Z-Series #2 Precision Knife with Cap - Sharp, Durable, For Cutting and Trimming

My original x-acto knife when I was moving. I bought this specific one because I found a bunch of the blades on sale! This one feels a lot better quality than the previous one I had. Even the case that protects the blade is thicker. I use these for a number of different reasons like easily cutting wrapping paper for gifts, the room or capacity to hold scissors, and to cut very specific shapes/lines that scissors aren't easily able to do. The blade is actually REALLY sharp, I dropped it on my wood floor and it stood blade down, upright! I can't fidn the picture for that accident but wow, cool! I saved more money buying it here than anywhere else.

Better quality than I expected.

Great product, I use these kind of knives all the time and it performs as expected. However, for some reason, the bottom of the plastic packaging on the knife itself appeared to have been cut open. So when I picked up the package to open it, (I had not even attempted to actually open it yet) the knife slid right out of that hole and almost hit my dog on its way down. It also does not have the safety cap on inside the packaging, so be extremely careful when open it. That was a very close call and it only turned out okay because of sheer luck.

X-acto knives are the go-to in cutting edge slicing (see what I did there?). It’s like all bandages are called Band-aids or all tissues are Kleenex, all knife blades are X-acto, even when they’re not. X-acto is the best for a reason, accept no substitutes. Which is why I’m confused as to how I never knew they made a thicker version for those people with chunkier fingers! Or those who just like a little more to hold on to, whichever. So, just in case you didn’t know this #2 blade knife is larger and has a thicker barrel grip than the regular #11 blade and holder. The #11 has a diameter of 8mm whereas the #2 diameter is 11mm. It may not sound like a lot but believe me it is! (Imagine sharpie vs pencil). I’ve included some pictures to show the size difference. The #2 has a gold grip and is on the bottom of each picture. I’ve been using it to cut tiny strips of copper foil tape along the edges of my soldering projects. I love how much more control I have with more area to grip. The blade itself comes to the same point at the same angle as the original #11. There is no loss of cutting precision. I definitely recommend grabbing one of these big boys you won’t regret it. And if you didn’t know there were different sizes of X-acto and were going to buy this one by mistake, you’re welcome. But still buy it because you totally need it, I promise.

Sharp blades but handle has no flat spots. Rolls too easily.

The knife itself is fantastic. no comments what so ever. Amazon recommends #11 type blades to be ordered along side, and they are too small. (unfortunately could not find the right size on amazon so had to source them from somewhere else)
