uxcell 5 Pcs Waterproof PG11 Black Plastic Cable Glands Joints

The concept is good for a water resistant electrical cord pass through. These are a size 11 which require an 11/16 drill bit to make the proper hole and 11/16 drill bits are expensive (~$18) unless you already have one. The size 7 will sorta work with a 1/2" bit that comes in most packages, but a 7/16" bit would give a tighter and more water resistant seal. The size 9 requires a bit larger than 1/2" as well. I had to buy a different large assortment of these to get the size 7 that would work with the bits I had, but I was able to do that at half the price of an 11/16" drill bit. Now I have a gazillion of these that I will probably never use. No luck finding an electrical products store that even knew what a Cable Glands Joint was in northern Florida.

There's not a lot that can be said about a joint/strain relief, but these are as good as they get.I builds guitar amps and hate the old style strain reliefs. These are quite a bit bigger than those but, as I like to over build things, these are tremendous. There's never a chance of the cord pulling through, you can use different size joints for different size cords, etc.I use these for other things, too, and they're water tight, moisture tight, perfect for any though-cabling application.

First off, It took over a month to arrive. Then they only sent 1 piece not the 5 as was ordered and paid for. Other than that the part looks servicable enough. Be advised that the threaded end is strait thread, not tapered NPT. If you are wanting to screw this into a PVC pipe fitting for a waterproof fit you will have a problem. It may screw into a 3/8" NPT pipe fitting, but I have not verified that yet. Other than the above mentioned, the parts (part) look OK.

Would be nice if they would thread directly into a 1/2" conduit threaded hole, but they don't. Fit perfectly into a 3/4" hole, little silicone, all good. Only downside is that they're a bit large. Would be handy if the pictures showed them next to a ruler.

Used for submersible fishing light

Light duty, good size for up to 14/3 awg SO cord, good cord grip. Used a couple of these for a temp controller build. The thread reach is short for mounting, best for metal enlcosures, not long enough for an electrical enclosure box like the ones sold at the big box building supply stores. The diameter is metric, a smaller size compared to a 1/2" enclosure knock out.

Worked as described. Be sure you install correctly. These are kind of hard to mess up, but plastic is strong and they are well made. Would definitely buy again if needed.
