This is the best resource available for extremely useful information about the corporate chief of staff role. Review: Solid run-down of the job. - I was looking to gain understanding of the role of a Chief of Staff inside a corporation. This book was educational and concise. I only wish more of it was written from the perspective of the Chief as opposed to hiring one. With that said, it's still a valuable read.

Thoughtful Meta-analysis
I read through the book in prep for a new role that I’ll start in a few weeks. In many ways, the book affirmed what I learned through the interview process, which reassured me that I’m on the right track. Though written primarily from the executive’s point-of-view, it still gave me all of the detail I needed. I’d highly recommend the book for anyone jumping into a CoS position that wants to start on the right foot. It won’t give you a blueprint to work from but certainly provides some excellent questions and perspectives to tailor the job around you and the executive.

Packed with content and advice
Parris packs this book with great business content and truth be told interviews. Where else can you get such great experience from the mouth's of Chiefs of Staff across diverse industries, advice for deciding if you need one (you probably do if you are thinking you might) and how to manage a CoS once you do hire them than this book! Really makes a stellar business book in a space that is so overlooked for such a critical role in a company. CoS are exceptionally talented and vital members of the C team.

A good overview for those considering the role
A solid read on the topic, even if you're not an executive. Good reflection questions and actions at the end of each chapter.

Excellent resource I will refer back to multiple times a year.
This book provides a comprehensive overview on why an existing CEO or other executive may want to consider hiring a Chief of Staff. But it also contains a vast amount of knowledge that is useful to an existing Chief of Staff. The research and quotes provided throughout the book give the reader insight into what CEOs across multiple industries are thinking when it comes to the Chief of Staff role. Highly recommended!

Super Practical & Useful Book! Highly Recommended
This is the only and best book for any one who think of having a Chief of Staff in their organization. What I liked about the book is that it is super practical and helped us at my company in designing the role and its scope. Very highly recommended.

This is perhaps the most Comprehensively written book on COS role. Although it is written for executives who need or hire a cos, there are So many examples and key takeaways for cos. The role hasn't been well defined till date but this book tries to weave all those threads together which could be treated as duties of a cos. Carry a pencil or a highlighter while reading. Lots to highlight and reflect on, even after you are done reading. Disclaimer: I am a cos.

Good book with nice insights and tips. Better for when you search a chief of staff than when you are one.
