Van Heusen Boys' 2-piece Formal Suit Set

Beautiful, well fitted suit

My 11yr old is slender and on the smaller side, so I ordered the 12 and 10. The 10 coat for perfectly! The pant length was perfect, but the waist was still slightly big. I'll be ordering a belt to go with it and they will fit great. He got a lot of compliments. We got a $100 suit for about $35! I couldn't believe the price for a quality suit.

This suit looks good on my thin 12 year old son. The only reason it is 4 stars is because the fabric is thinner than traditional suit fabrics and the subtle pattern is printed on instead of being a result of higher quality fabric. From a distance it’s not noticeable and since it’s summer here my son will probably appreciate the lighter fabric. He will likely grow out of it before he wears it out since he only wears it once a week for church.

Good thing I got this at a rock bottom price and didn't need it urgently for a specific occasion. It just arrived today, and the first thing I noticed is that it is marked as size 14, when I ordered a size 12. I don't know who's fault that is. I read other reviews that said this brand runs small, so maybe somebody said 'you're ordering size 12? Let me do you a favor and just size you up right now.' I don't know. Anyway, I actually only bought this jacket and pants set because it was a rock bottom price. I have an 8 year old, so I was looking at sizes 10 and 12, just to stay ahead of him. I didn't even look at size 14 so I don't know if that size was on sale. But what I ended up with is size 14 for the sale price. I will keep it and just have him wear it whenever it does start to fit him. As far as fabric, it is extremely thin. I would say this is a summer suit. The pants are actually see through. I read other comments about the striped appearance and that is true. It's not just a solid dark blue. I actually like the striped look, it's something a little different. We've had VanHeusen suits in the past and I thought they were better quality than this. I'm not sure why the quality seems to have fallen off on this set, but perhaps that explains the price. Maybe they are trying to clear these out. It is certainly not worth the $100 price tag that is attached to the jacket sleeve with nylon thread punctured through the thin fabric. I hope it doesn't leave holes.

Great summer suit. Accurate to size

We ordered this size 12 child’s suit and the sizing was WAY off. The suit was more narrow than other size & clothing, and the pants were longer than my husband’s (and hubby is 6’2”). Luckily we were able to return with no issues.

This is not a dig, but you do get what you pay for. Not a high-quality suit, but it’s certainly sharp looking and fit as expected. We don’t have a lifestyle that requires our grandsons to wear suits on a regular basis, so I didn’t need something that would last for many wearings. It’s a good value for the price, which was quite a bit lower than other suits I looked at before deciding on this one. And it was shipped promptly, arriving in plenty of time for the event. Grandson looked good and said it was comfortable. Will save this for his younger brother, so all in all it was a good purchase.
