How much fabric is needed for a size xl

It has sizes by number (10, 12, etc...) Here is the yards for some sizes: Size 10 needs up to 1 7/8 yards. Size 12, size 14 and size 16 each need up to 2 3/8 yards. Size 18 needs up to 2 5/8 yards. All sizes then need up to yard of fusing (interfacing). Hope this helps!

Could this be easily adjusted for a size 6?

I believe it can be. Just a matter of folding the pattern.

Is this too easy for a beginner? I want to be able to make something that has a bit of darts etc. so that i can learn some skills after doing this.

Personally, I don't feel it's too easy for a beginner. The bag is simple enough, the dress is a bit more challenging but not too difficult.
