Amazing. Portable, fast, Simple, capable, networkable. Did I mention amazing?
This is an amazing scanner. One of my best buys this year. Very flexible, comes with an armored and padded carrying case. I can take it anywhere in my research, and scan maps straight to USB, or connect by Ethernet to my network and scan to PC, or a remote location. Color screen is VERY easy to use, and is simple to change resolution, color/BW, image output format, etc - and can save my choices as default. Has been enormously helpful - and was a far better and more capable unit than I expected. Just had to rave about it here. Well done, Colortrac!!

Easy to set up, easy to use
After a few months: Scan quality is seriously degraded, no amount of cleaning helps, which means it's the sensor and/or lamps. Haven't talked to support yet, so the review only went from 5stars to 3. Might be 1star depending on how the manufacturer responds. One of the best packaged devices I've ever owned. Easy to set up, easy to calibrate, easy to use. This scanner has the added benefit of hooking directly into my 36" printer, making it a copier for architectural drawings. After two weeks of using: Scanning old arch-d drawings requires that you get a carrier. Because the scanner is roll feed damaged originals tend to wrinkle or not feed properly. A carrier solves all that. I scanned an unmounted canvas today, and the color quality and resolution were outstanding. It pays to familiarize yourself with the control panel icons as they are not truly intuitive. Once you get used to them the scanner is very easy to use.

Good quality wide format scans. Great price.
Just what we wanted. Easy to use, we scan directly to USB. Scans are good quality. Portable, comes with a very nice case. No instruction manual was included, but when we asked the seller quickly emailed a pdf.

Just didn't work with our network security restrictions
Never got to use it because it didn't meet the requirements in order to use it at work.

Not reccomended
This scanner does not work without drivers and both the written directions and the menu screen directions are unclear. It states that one just needs to plug a usb flash drive in order to upload images from the scanner which just isn’t true. The supplier tries to charge a restocking fee so beware if you can’t get it to work for you. It does look nice but that is where it ends.

Easy to use once you figure it out
Works beautifully after you struggle through learning the menu of controls. Software is a waste of time, makes much more sense to scan directly to a USB memory stick. The trick is to realize what a basically simple machine this is - just position the sheet to be scanned , push the green button - done.

Colortrac SmartLF Wide Format Scanner
This scanner works very nice! I was actually able to scan a 36" X 60" film of a survey map to PDF and it turned out great! Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a economically priced scanner. You really get a lot of scanner for the price!
