Being that these don't work with low gauge wire, I wouldnt put more than 10 amps through them at a low voltage as to not create enough heat to melt them

I don’t see a reason you couldn’t. For added security, i would use heat shrink on your connections.

What are the yellow connectors called with the hump in the middle? I need a male blue spade connector to fit inside the yellow female spade connector.

Off the top of my head without looking at the package I would say red with red yellow with yellow green with green
