Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation, Medium Beige

Buying makeup online without sampling first is always scary. This is the second or third time I've purchased this powder and it works fine. I have very oily skin and I do not wear foundation. I need something that works well, keeps the shine to a minimum and provides some coverage. This powder does all that. As far as coverage, it's average. If you need full coverage, this may not be the best option to use alone. My work days are long, averaging about 13 hours. I apply this in the morning and depending on the activity during the day, I will reapply once in the afternoon. As far as shading, it's pretty much standard. I have been a medium beige for a few years with a few different powders (I also like Neutrogena Healthy Skin Powder) however, this last powder seems just a hint lighter than before. I would expect that during the summer months but not after the winter. The change is not drastic and blends well anyway. I would suggest to buy the shade you are used to. The sponge is better than most and is kept separate from the powder. Overall, this is a good powder that provides medium coverage, is not cakey and works well with oily skin.

This product is a powder foundation, not just a powder. It has buidable coverage. I do not have to use any concealer or other powders in addition to this product. It completely blends my blush and eyeshadow down, in case I got a little heavy-handed. I have not had any problems with stickiness.

This is comparable to the Celebration Foundation powder makeup compact and although the coverage is slightly less intense (not at all sheer but not heavy or cake-y). While the Celebration has slightly more intense pigment and goes on in a similar light one layer brush-on application, this product has the same characteristic light yet color-dense coverage that feels like a fine powder that blends into the skin not just sitting on top, yet does not have that heavy foundation (sticky/filmy/runny etc) feel that a liquid does. And it stays on skin for at least 4 hours, requiring only minor touch up with a small brush. I like the portability of a compact, and while I don’t like the applicators that come with powders, the only down side is finding a purse size portable brush applicator that has a travel pouch for keeping it clean. It definitely produces better results with a quality powder or kabuki brush. And can double as concealer with a good dense concealer brush (the it cosmetic double ended one that they make is perfect as well for both foundation & concealer). So while I would still give the Celebration a slight edge a far as coverage, for the price, this makes for a practical economical substitute for stay at home days or light errand running. And easy for travel and purse storage on the go. The colors are somewhat forgiving in a wide range but just make sure you know your undertone (cool, neutral or warm) then choose the lightness range from there. I am a warm light-medium and rotate between natural and warm or warm beige depending on time of year in Texas (the humidity here also makes this product invaluable).

This is hands down my favourite powder foundation. I've tried countless brands from drugstore to high end and this one is the best IMO. You control the amount of coverage you want with your application. Looks natural and the colour does not change throughout the day. I have oily skin and that was an issue with other brands. Highly recommend; great value.
