Snow Girl and The Dark Crystal

I cannot describe how amazing and beautiful this movie is. It is a love story, an epic puzzle with demons and gods battling, where demons and gods are not what you think, and the human who gets caught in the middle of it tries to do the right thing - whatever that may be in the end. The CGI is seamless, so that you are lost in the story and totally buy into the fantasy. The visuals are stunning in blu-ray. And the music is so good, I'm going to go looking for a CD of it and the translation of the song at the end credits. A drawback is the English is subtitles only, but now that I know the story I can watch more of the movie, without losing a frame. Some I just paused to take it all in. If you are a fan of mythology, this Chinese tale will deliver. If you are not, the action scenes and CGI are all you could wish for. Highly recommended.

Stunning visuals brought to life in this $30M big-budget epic fantasy movie. Huge 'scale' with sweeping aerial footage shots, good vs evil tale and exciting cinematography with plenty of cgi effects done very well. You can tell a lot of work went into producing this, it's a rare standout in the genre and worth watching. Well done!

I don't seem to be able to accept most Far Eastern films that are based on mythology, even mythology they make up. I guess the cultural concepts involved escape me. But some are definitely worth watching, as eye candy if nothing else. This is definitely one of them. And the plot is both a bit complicated and followable. In this case, we have a hero who has mysterious powers, eventually revealed, and a demon he falls in love with when he supposed to be killing demons. But all is not as it seems. This was the SD Amazon Prime rental version. It was clearly labeled as not being in English (which it is not) and has English subtitles.

the 3 stars are for the lie by either amazon or the company it streams with (hi-yah) that says it's in English, it is not in English, and there is no options in the language section to actually put it in English since it says that "English" is the only language so there are no other choices, amazon should really check this before streaming, i will certainly not be renewing from this company (hi-yah) after my free trial, simply for its lies, i am now going to report to amazon it's not in English if i can find the option

Wow. This is such an unexpected nice movie. I was attracted by the title and the cover of the dvd case. It was such a delightful surprise to find a movie so unique in the mythology of Heaven and Hell. Like wow... not your typical Demons and Satan are bad and God and Angels are good movie. I really love the Asians' interpretation of mythical religious beings, making them more complex than even certain humans. If you are into movies based around mythologies and religious myths, or are a fan of Jim Henson films such as The Dark Crystal and Legend, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this film, Snow Girl and The Dark Crystal. My next Chinese dvd is going to be The White Hair Witch. This dvd came with trailers and one of them was The White Hair Witch and I liked the trailer.

I absolutely loved this movie... action packed, beautiful grfx, and a beautiful story. This in my opinion was alot like " The Sorcerer and the White Snake" another awesome movie!!! I enjoyed the creativity in this movie. I plan to paint some of the scenes from this movie. If you like fantasy type movies, fairy tail, or interested in Chinese legends, and stories, you will love this!!!!!! I cant wait for more movies like this. Definitely a new favorite :) I hope you enjoy it.

I bought this item with 20 plus other DVD titles. A very low quality DVD I must say. Amazon sent this DVD to me with pre-existing damages! It was NOT damaged in transit because the envelope packaging was fine. The DVDs inside were not. I am very disappointed as a DVD collector. I didn’t bother to contact customer service because I want to protect my peace. Their customer service has been abysmal lately.

Love this ! Bought after first view. Real nice character development and story, Snowgirl is believable as a demon not-wanting -to be- type cast as a demon. And lead male has many sides , also a demon not demon. Though Snow Girl has Lydian attributes that only us over 60 folk remember, I found this movie worthy of watching repeatedly.
