Still Going Strong 9 months Later
UPDATE: It's almost October 2021, and I've been using the humidifier pretty much nonstop with no issues at all. I love it so much I just ordered two more of the white ones as it looks like the black is now unavailable. I love how easy it is to clean this unit. One of my favorite things about it, besides the color functions, is the sleep function! It's nice to be able to shut off all the lights so it doesn't disturb your sleep. The remote still works fine too. I never did change the battery. Lol. Overall, you can't go wrong for approx $30 USD.The negative reviews make me nervous, so I will be updating my review after using this for a few weeks (or sooner if it breaks down). So far, itās working well. It puts out a lot of moisture into the air, and surprisingly the mist actually shoots up into the air with little going down into the carpet. I thought I would need to put a towel down but I havenāt had to yet. The lights are really cool. Other reviews complain about the bubbling noise, but I actually find that soothing. There is a bit of a humming sound while itās running, but I sleep with a fan on anyway, so that blocks it out. I was surprised to see all the water in the base and am nervous about that causing it to short circuit. Itās a weird setup to have the lighting component immersed in water, so Iām hoping that thing is good and waterproof. The remote is a nice feature, but itās pretty basic and cheaply made. I noticed that the buttons will stop responding intermittently, but Iām going to replace the battery to see if that fixes the problem. The ācolorā button on the remote actually says ācoloeā which is funny, but not a big deal to me. I think this will be easy to clean which is a plus. Fingers crossed it will work for awhile.

Would not recommend
I had another humidifier but it was really small so I wanted one abit larger and capable of going on much longer. First impression: Quality of the product itself felt cheap, compared to the other humidifiers I've bought (I bought some in the past and some as gifts) but the remote is so cute so that's a plus. The "buttons" on it felt really finicky from the start, sometimes not registering the touch. But it was fine, as long as it can do the job, I'm alright with it. The sound is really pretty noiseless so that was really nice. Light doesn't work well with the black version of this since it doesn't show up.A couple weeks into it, "buttons" on the product doesn't seem to work, but the remote is still okay, so I switch to that. Then, not even a month, this humidifier started making odd sounds and would just shut off. I have cleaned it (which was not easy) and refilled the water, but it'll tell me there's no water. The "buttons" on the product doesn't work so I'm trying to get it to work with the remote but it will just tell me I'm low on water, despite it being full, then turns off. This time, it worked for like 5 minute and turned off telling me there's no water.Sadly, would not recommend.

Tested Daily For Weeks
Update: After using this every day for a month now, I wanted to update my review.I noticed on the remote control that color is spelled incorrectly. It is spelled as "Coloe" on the remote. Now, this does not effect the humidifier's performance, but makes me curious how thousands of these misspellings got through Quality Control.I noticed the buttons on the machine itself are not installed very well. When you touch the button straight on, it does not register as being pressed. You have to press off to the side more for it to function and register a key press. The remote doesn't work very far away either but it is still your best bet when trying to access the functions of this device. Those are the only three (misspelling, short IR distance on remote, barely functioning buttons on machine) shortfalls that I found for this humidifier. The humidifier has added tremendous benefits to my home and I am still very, very happy that I made my purchase. My plants are happier, I'm happier and I feel that it was a good investment. If you are on the fence about this, just go ahead and get it, but make sure you use distilled.Original: I was not expecting much, to be honest, but the humidifier turned out to be a pretty good purchase...I could notice right away that my nose wasn't as dry after using it at night. It worked so well, I put it next to all of my plants and keep it on all day. The plants are much happier and I do not have to water as much! The lights work great and aren't too bright to use as a night light. I keep mine on green so it can safely be used around plants in the dark. It's seems pretty reliable for daily use and using only distilled made it so I never have to clean anything. I highly recommend this product! Thanks!

It works just as expected with features I didn't even know I needed
First of all, this works extremely well and makes a noticeable difference in humidity even in my rather large bedroom. That said, here are a few things to consider before you buy it: It makes a gurgling noise that's just loud enough that more than once it's awakened me thinking my cat was barfing on the floor. No matter how careful you are, the lid will spill condensed water on something nearby every time you take it off to fill the tank. It offers a bunch of soothing light colors like blues and greens and purples ... and one alarming shade of red that makes your room look like a crime scene or a brothel. My particular unit arrived with all the buttons on it broken. But it comes with a remote that has a lot more intuitive-to-use buttons so I'm just pretending the unit doesn't have buttons on it because I'd probably use the remote full-time anyway. I had no idea I'd ever want a timer on a humidifier, but it's a great feature to have. One tank of water lasts about three nights when the humidity setting is on high. I use only distilled water, so I don't know how it might handle the impurities in tap water. And the entire thing looks smart and sophisticated on a dresser or desktop--as though I have some kind of taste or decorating skill. Which I otherwise don't. :-)
