MARENA B2 Adjustable Sport Shirred Front Shoulder Closure Bra

The band on this bra is comes down farther and is idea for post op after any surgery that leaves incisions under the breast or arm pit (such as for drains). The post op bra put on me after my surgery was not this long and dug into my incisions causing worse pain. The bra is seamless and smooth on the inside for additional comfort. I also found the adjustable straps and front close to help with fitting. I will warn you to follow the size guide when ordering your size. You will most likely not wear the same size you would in a typical bra.

I had breast augmentation and a belt lipectomy and garments for my recovery were very important. I tried a total of 9 different recovery bras and while this bra was in my top four, the shirring on the front was not comfortable. My favorite is a Marena bra but not this one. I do wear this one, but it is not my favorite. Sizing is really important. Make sure to follow the guidelines for sizing! Some positives are that it is comfortable in all areas but the shirring. The shirring isn't necessarily uncomfortable, but I am able to feel it. I do like that the fabric has antimicrobial properties which is extremely important in my opinion. I tried bras in all price points and Marena is my favorite, just not necessarily this style.

This is one of the few post surgical bras I’ve tried that fits really well - the band doesn’t ride up when I sit down. Unfortunately I can’t stand to be in this bra for more than 15 minutes because whatever fabric they used to make this bra is unbearably itchy. It irritates my skin along the inside of the band and between my breasts and the itching it causes is positively maddening. Other reviewers have mentioned that this bra is really itchy and I wish I would have listened to those reviews because now I am stuck with a $100 bra that I can’t wear and can’t return (because it is not new and unworn). I have bought several other post op bras and none of the others itch. There is something in the way this Marena bra is made that causes it to irritate the skin. I bought this Marena bra from Amazon and I ordered another of the same bra directly from the manufacturer (Marena) and both have caused the same unbearable itching.

I now own 3 Marena sheared bras. This was the style sent home with me after my bilateral breast reduction. The hospitals was way too small so I ordered a larger size. It was also too small but having worn it I couldn't return it. I went up another size, still too tight. I was able to return this one. The the chest bands are rough and tight and kept rolling up onto my sutures. I have given up! I finally ordered a compression vest and that has worked out much, much better.
