It is determined by the tea leaves quality and characteristics. In general, culinary grade is bitter and suitable for making drinks or confectionery. As for ceremonial grade have moderate bitterness and best for Sadou -Matcha Ceremony with whisking with Chasen. Competition Grade matcha is in other words "Premium Ceremonial Grade". If you this is your first time to try matcha, we recommend to purchase the "Culinary Matcha" and make a cup of Matcha latte.
