Works on a #6 but not full.
These tongs are capable of lifting and holding a 5kg crucible. They will likely lift one with a full load of aluminum. They do to feel thick enough to go any further than that. They will not be picking a full load of a #6 here.

Bacon tongues
You can be a real man and fried bacon without a shirt on, tongues just keep you more than safe distance

Used for smelting brass. Function well, but flimsy. The shape and size is perfect. I just wish they made it out of thicker or stronger material. Mine bent like a noodle on first use, and I was only using #1 crucible. Had to hammer it back into shape between melts.

These tongs are for very light work, the material a bit less that a 1/4 inch thick, very flimsy stuff. At the scissor joint it’s only 1/8 inch thick and broke after a few uses
