This is cool and I don't cook. You never know when you need a strainer until you need a strainer (spider). Solid, sturdy and high quality. Larger than I expected which is a real bonus. Tons of uses for this item. Highly recommended instead of the screen kind that can tear up easier. I've used it to rescue a hummingbird without injuring the little thing.

I don't know how I ever got along without one of these and now that I have it I use it almost every day for a variety of kitchen tasks. Great for scooping pasta or vegetables, rinsing small portions of berries, fruits or vegetables without having to pull out a colander. I've had no problems with the stainless steel holding up and as long as you don't abuse it, should last a long time. Every kitchen should have one of these and this is a good one at a great price.
