Great quality; love the design. While it say's it's for "Children" I think drummers and non-drummers of multiple ages would enjoy it. That being said, I'm not sure I'd buy it for a 3 year old, but a little older child (and adults) would enjoy it. Just because I feel you should be able to appreciate the different tones and qualities -- depending on how you hold/hit it -- it produces. It's heftier and more solid than what I was expecting, and has a nice sound. And I do own other Aklot products (Ukulele) so I did have a somewhat high expectation in terms of quality, and I was not disappointed. I like the hand-painted design on the side. And that's one bit of my feedback feedback (not negative nor positive) is that what design you receive is random. Some may enjoy the element of surprise, while others may want a specific pattern/color to match their other gear. I like mine, and didn't mind not knowing, but just putting that out there. Also, having some sort of small book/manual included would be nice. How to hold it, what differentiates the Djembe from other African drums, etc. I know some people ignore manuals, but I have a little manual that came with a Mbira (not Aklot) and I appreciate some of those basic bits of info.

As a musician, it is definitely worth the bang fir the buck. It's genuinely well crafted and sounds fantastic. Feels very similar to very high end bongos (although I am primarily bass, I am a master of none). The aesthetics are the cherry on top. As a multi-instrumentalist dabbling with percussion outside or a drum set, this is the real deal. Get it.

Really like the carved design and sound. Needed a djembe quickly and didn’t have time to order from music store. Used the drum for my choir’s performance. It was great. The only thing is that the rope started to unbraid at the bottom. I looped it back into the rest of the braids and it’s totally fine.

I enjoy playing these drums. It was smaller than I thought but makes a very nice sound. The only thing is the straps loosen.

This Djembe is the perfect size and has a great sound with the goatskin.

Wow! I did not have high expectations for this drum because the price was suspiciously cheap, in my opinion. But I bought it to use in a few numbers in a chorus concert I was directing, and figured it would be good enough. Well I’m pretty blown away at both the sound and the construction of this drum! The drum head on mine is easily 10” and I was surprised at how deep a sound a drum this size could make, and what a nice tone it has. On top of that, the elephant carving and paint job are pretty impeccable, and the whole thing is very sturdy / good weight for its size. I was kind of hoping for a dolphin one but the elephant is gorgeous and my main concern was how it sounded, and it sounds awesome!

This is a beautiful drum with a lovely sound! It has a nice warm tone, the craftsmanship is also really nice and I love the beautiful artwork. Really happy to have added this drum to my home and I can't wait to build my skill or just enjoy playing it idly. It also shipped well protected and arrived with no damage.

I own a large djembe and I am very impressed with the sound and tone of this drum. I read the reviews before I ordered it and wanted to add that I am glad that I did. It’s got a lovely sound - very rich bass tone when struck properly in the middle. Great drum, especially for the price.

I wasn’t very happy with the Djembe when it arrived. It was a gift for my son for Christmas and there was spider webs all over it, the top was so dirty with black finger prints and I’ve tried to clean it but it’s not working, the blue paint was chipped and the design was completely scratched up. The item was listed as brand new and this djembe is clearly well used. Very disappointed!
