Grilled charcoal flavor!!
Good lord this stuff is great!! I got the sure shot Sid's Gunpowder seasoning. Just stating which one cuz a lot of reviews on Amazon ain't even about the same item. Anyway, this stuff is freaking amazing! It has that perfect charcoal grilled flavor I was looking for. I will definitely be buying this stuff again. I also ordered the Sid's smokey bacon seasoning but haven't gotten it yet. I hope it's as good as this stuff.

Has a Light Grill Taste - Overall Very Good!
This is quite good and I'm very happy with it although I wish the critical Grill taste could be a bit stronger. I've seen reviews complaining this is too salty - I totally disagree with that. This is not salt with some seasoning, it is seasoning with some salt flavor. Anyway, I've been looking for a seasoning that provides a Grill taste without firing up the grill and I wouldn't say this makes the mark because the grill taste is kind of weak, it does in fact provide that. I've tried a couple other seasonings that have claimed Grill taste and they've been 100% disappointment - you need to use this liberally to get some Grill taste though. Barring something better, I'll likely buy this again and look forward to mixing this in with some burger!!!

Has MSG- Hard to find favorite seasoning - it makes food taste like it's been grilled over charcoal
Do note that this product does contain a large amount of MSG. It is listed as the 2nd ingredient, after salt. If you don't want MSG in your food, this is probably not a product for you. Perhaps one day they will make a version without it. Years ago my husband and I found some of this in Georgia, and he absolutely LOVED it. He's always looked for it since and mentioned it more than once, so I was pretty tickled when I found it on Amazon. It does look like gunpowder- it is a gray, powdery sort of seasoning. It is very good mixed with ground beef before forming out patties for burgers. It's also good on steak - primarily, we like it on beef. It gives a flavor that is a lot like cooking out over a charcoal grill, so it is nice if you grill on a gas grill or cook inside. It comes well sealed with a shaker top. It is good to shake it on steaks and pork chops, but for burgers, try mixing it into your burger mix. Mine was very fresh, with an expiration date 2 years in the future. There's really no other seasoning we've found like it, and liquid smoke doesn't match it either. We love Lawry's and Steak N Shake's, and Montreal steak seasoning, but this is quite different. It's much like a burger cooked and seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, onion - the basics...but over good charcoal.

Good flavor
Different than Cavenders, Slap your Mama, etc. Not just salt and pepper seasoning. We use it on most everything that you would use salt and pepper on.

Gray, not black!
My Ma introduced me to oven baked charcoal seasoned wings over 30 years ago. It was a great alternative to breaded and sauced wings for two die hard Broncos fans after my dad's heart attack. However many wings you like, well seasoned on both sides with garlic powder, charcoal powder, and seasoning salt (my Ma was a Lawry's woman, ride or die) 400 F for forty minutes, give or take. If you like extra crispy skin, flip on broil for a couple minutes BEFORE that forty is up, or you'll end up with rawhide instead of juicy wings with crispy skin. This product has acquitted itself well to the task and my whole family noms these wings like the end is nigh and this is their last meal.
