Hoover Upright Vacuum Cleaner, HU500SGP, Pets, Floor Sensor, No loss of suction, HEPA, Multi-cyclonic, H-UPRIGHT 500 Plus Pets

I bought a Hoover vacuum cleaner because my previous one was not picking up cat hair well and all the dirt from carpets. The first time after using the Hoover vacuum cleaner I was very pleased, it collected a lot of rubbish despite the fact that the day before I was vacuuming with an old vacuum cleaner. It is very easy to empty a container with collected dirt. The cable is very long, I didn't have to change the socket at all, vacuuming the whole bottom of the house. The motor is quiet, the brushes rotate quickly (they are a bit too loud for me), but they must be cleaned after each use. Led light is useful in darker places such as under furniture or in corners. The Hoover vacuum cleaner does not need to be lifted as there are wheels, cleaning the stairs is very easy thanks to the extension hose. Overall, the vacuum cleaner is not heavy if it is moved to another floor. I use the 'auto button' function, which sets the function of vacuuming various surfaces by itself, in my case carpets or linoleum. I am very pleased with this purchase and I really recommend this vacuum cleaner.

I received the my Hoover with next day delivery and it was well packaged. The set up was quick and simple with a easy to follow guide and the additional attachments all secure nicely to the main unit so I don't have to worry about misplacing any of them.My previous vacuum was a cordless Vax but I feel the suction just isn't that powerful and since we've recently had a cat join the family, I find myself trying to keep on top of the fur they leave behind.Pros:-Something I was worried about was the length of cable as I though it would be frustrating going from a cordless back to a corded vacuum but this Hoover vacuum has such a long cable that I was easily able to cover most if not all of my rooms from one plug which was great.-I like the fact it has a light and it helped with noticing smaller dust/debris in the dark Winter evenings.-The mini pet hair remover attachment I thought was fantastic and really powerful. I used it on our couch and I really noticed the difference and could feel the suction power.-The suction is good and clearly much more powerful that my previous cordless vacuum.-Quickly detects and switches between suction type when moving between hard and soft floor surfaces in the automatic mode.Cons:-I found the vacuum to be really heavy and this impacted on how easy it was to manoeuvre and twist and turn when trying to get into awkward spots.-We live in a townhouse so I have two sets of stairs (which somehow tend to gather the most debris) so being able to vacuum the stairs easily is essential for me and this just wasn't possible with the weight of this vacuum and whilst the attachments are great, it's just too time consuming to use the mini cleaner for the stairs compared to the light cordless vacuum I previously had.Overall I think it's a great vacuum with great suction and the added pet remover attachment is great for upholstery. Unfortunately thought, I wouldn't recommend it if you have stairs as it's just to heavy and cumbersome to use for them.

After a few years struggling with various makes of cordless vacuum cleaners, we finally gave up and started looking for a corded one.The problem is we have 2 dogs who moult frequently, creating vast piles of dog hair in every corner. It's so thick, the cordless cleaners just couldn't cope with it, as the main tube is very narrow, and it would block after about 10 seconds.This Hoover is incredible! After vacuuming our carpets, they literally looked brand new, we couldn't believe it. It never seems to lose suction, and it hasn't blocked yet either.The little Pet Brush also deserves a special mention. Ones I've used in the past have just been simple brushes that do nothing. This one is absolutely brilliant.The attachments can be a little awkward to connect together, and you could say that it is a little bit heavy, but for me theses are very minor points. I would go so far as to say that this is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever used.The first one stopped working after a couple of hours but it was replaced the next day, hassle free. My original review can be seen below. However, after the first hoover started making an awful noise, I was sent a replacement.On the second time of using the replacement, it stopped. I changed the fuse, checked the socket worked - the hoover was bust! Nothing happened when I turned it on.So, my new review is not as positive as my initial one.I thought my old hoover picked up well, however after my first use of this hoover I could notice the difference immediately in how freshly vacuumed the carpet appeared.A lot of positives, the handle height is adjustable which is something I’ve not previously come across. As a tall person, I appreciate this feature.The brushes stop when the hoover is upright, or has stopped moving, the auto sensor works well - a definite improvement on my old hoover which had a manual control, meaning a log of bending down to change brush height when moving from carpet to tile.The hose is a great length! I left the hoover at the bottom of the stairs & used the mini brush tool to vacuum the stair carpet.Overall, I’m very happy with this hoover & would recommend it to others.
