Alii Snack Co Li Hing Mui Powder 6 oz Shaker Jar

I grew up in Hawaii, where food are prepared with strong Asian influence. Li hing flavored fruit and fruit preserves are everywhere. A local favorite is adding li hing sauce to shave ice or CEE ala mode. It’s sweet, salty, and sour at the same time. Goes well with Chinese preserves, mango,, pineapple, apple, etc. If you’ve never tried it, you might want to try a li hing flavored product before buying the powder in bulk like this.

Never knew this existed until a trip to Oahu last year. It adds a whole different dimension to pineapple. Cheaper than buying locally and you dont have to pack it.

This is a fantastically flavorful addition to my spice rack! I've used on popcorn, hamburgers, in soups, on eggs, in omelets and stews. It has not disappointed! It's almost addictive. It is a must have in my pantry!

This doesn’t really taste salty and sour but rather very artificial sweet. No salty plum flavor at all. I don’t know if I got a bad batch or not but this terrible. Can’t even return or get refund.

Moving to texas from hawaii, it’s just like back home. On the sweeter side.

This came on time and in good condition. The flavor is nice when sprinkled lightly. But if you sprinkle too much it is too sweet for my taste. I would prefer it if it tasted more like Taiwanese suan mei salted plums. This product is a little light on the liquorice and salty flavors; it also lacks the pucker of the powders found in Taiwan. That said, it's nice on fruit if you also add salt, and ok very sparingly used on rice for spam musubi, where the saltiness of the other ingredients can take the lead.

We use it in tiki drinks and we love it!
