New Balance Men's 411 V1 Training Shoe

Because these shoes did not cost an arm and a leg, I was a little concerned about the purchase. However, after I removed them from the box and tried them on, I was very pleased. They are comfortable and well made. I have not had any problem with the velcro closures. I recently did some traveling which required a lot of walking on uneven surfaces. They worked great. They have enough support that the foot stays comfortably in place. I will acknowledge, however, that I purchased a pair of Dr. Scholls heal support inserts to deal with the walking conditions, and they really helped. With that combination, I would not look for any other pair of walking shoes.

I've been through several pairs of New Balance shoes, relegating them to gym duty as the get too scruffy. I've gotten different styles over the years as older models were replace but the selection criteria remained the same -- they shouldn't look too weird. so I'd go for muted colors. These are a great option, looking like black dress shoes while providing the NB comfort for walking.

I have been looking for a shoe with a Velcro closure to replace my Avia, and had tried several, even another Avia. This one fits comfortably and I like everything about it except it seems to have a lowered heel. My right foot is larger than my left, and thus I have an issue. Sizing is so variable amongst shoe brands, and even within a brand. I take a 7.5 on left and an 8 on right--so it is always a compromise. Physical shoe stores don't seem to have depths and breadth of inventory anymore so it is difficult. I had an old standby but it got discontinued, and quality always deteriorates even if can get the same item as before. Sigh! Buying a shoe is more difficult than buying a car, perhaps even as difficult as buying a mattress.

Very comfortable, I have purchased other NB shoes in this size so I was pretty confident in the fit and it was perfect. They have excellent support. My only concern with NB shoes is I have had a problem with some of them with the sole coming off the uppers if they get wet a few times. I live in the country and have to walk through wet grass in the morning to tend to some animals. I hope these hold up OK. Like all shoes, these do wear out with use, if your feet eventually start to ache, replace them.

I wanted to wait for a while before I did a review on these shoes. It has been about a year, and I am very pleased with them. I don't walk as much as I used to, about a half mile, to a mile a day, sometimes more. These have held up very well so far. I purchased another pair a few months back, but have not needed to take them out of the box yet. I wear a 12 4E. I have always had trouble finding shoes that were wide enough, and I have bunions that can be very painful at times. These help a lot, and for $50 bucks, you can't go wrong.

These are awesome. Glad I purchased. The reviews were great and seemed to be just what I needed. I’m a postal carrier amd and do quite a bit of walking in my route. They have held up now for over 2 months of daily wear and tear. No issues so far. I think I’ll even buy another pair. Great support amd just a good well made shoe for anyone that does a lot of walking. I recommend this shoe for sure.

The ratings here run higher than I would think. Check the date of the review, because perhaps NB has changed the materials. Many of the older reviews say the shoe was comfortable from the get-go. I emphatically did not find that to be the case. The fit was a bit snug, but I'm sure that will relax. I hope the whole thing relaxes, because currently the rigidity of the sole is a problem, and I've been in them for about two miles now. The one thing I found fairly decent was the heel cushioning. Without that I would have returned the shoe. The design also is pretty blah. I knew it was subdued, but this is boring. Perhaps in time I will like these things.

I have had to buy 13s for years to get shoes that weren't too tight. These came in a 12 XW that is a perfect fit. They are great for walking, the shape of the sole sort of rolls you forward like walking downhill. Love these well-made, good looking shoes.
