Q: Does the cloth on top absorb messes or does the mess run down bib?

This bib is made of polyester and does not absorb fluids. Food droppings are caught by a pocket in the lower part of the bib.

This beautiful bib is 18 inches from neckline to the bottom of the folded up crumb catching flap. It may be a bit large for your mom, but the bottom of the bib can easily rest on her lap. This is my very favorite bib, and I wear it for all my meals. It keeps the drips off my clothes and the crumbs off the floor. Any spills are EASILY wiped clean with a napkin or damp cloth. I have laundered it only once in several months of use, and it still looks almost new.
