This was included with a scanner I bought a while back and so far it's still working fine. It's basic but helps you test 12v batteries which is nice to have. I wished their scanner had 3 years instead of two as I like the GUI on it, but I no longer have updates.

I was originally going to purchase another more expensive name brand battery tester. I checked out the reviews on Youtube for that particular name brand and saw that it was being compared to the Ancel BA301 tester. After checking out the review I was impressed with the Ancel. I liked the screen shot which was in color and had a more pleasing and easy to read screen. It wasn't complicated to understand as there wasn't a whole bunch of buttons to figure out. Although being made of light weight plastic made it feel cheap, it was well made with cables and strong clamps that felt above average. Being half the price of the other name brand was also a nice touch.

Seems like a good tool, doesn't need a battery.

Just take it out of the box, clip it to the battery terminals and follow the instructions of the screen. If you do an 'in car' test it would help to have someone in the car to start it or to rev it up when asked. The leads are only about 2' long. Did everything I needed and was on sale when I bought it.

This is so easy to use and it works great on all the batteries I have tested. I even took a battery to a local battery store to see if they got the same results and they matched.

Unless you have a brand new battery, this is going to say "replace battery" every time. Yeah, read that again, and realize the settings on this are too high in my opinion. Also, YOU MUST HAVE THE BATTERY INFO in order to test it. Without that info, you are just guessing. It'd be like making a cup of coffee, if you don't know the size of the mug, how will you know how much coffee to make? A simple multi-meter can tell you the same info if you know how to use it properly and do the math. This device just does the math for you and says "Replace" every time if you have a used battery at any age.

I didn't want to review till I had a chance to use it. Today was the day. I was concerned that it needed the USB c port to operate, but it doesn't. I was further concerned about searching for the battery I was testing from the menu. Forget that, it did it for me!! It gave me everything I needed to know about the test battery in seconds. I have two of the old fashioned carbon Pyle (toaster) testers and they're ok. They are not battery "analysisers." This is!!! You'll love it and probably sleep with it under your pillow for the first week or so. Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased.
