TACTACAM Spotter LR with 4K View and Recording for Spotting Scopes (Spotter LR)

I've had this for about 3 weeks, and I do absolutely love it. * Note, I detail the tactacam app functionality below. The GREAT: + Good video ( equivalent to a cell-phone adapter, except without the overheating of a cell phone ). + Easily adapts to your favorite spotting scope + Controls are easy to navigate + Works wonderfully with the Tactacam Spotter software + Wifi makes it possible to set up at a better vantage point than where the user is. + Small, compact, and works wonderfully. + Battery life - I got around 4 hours out of mine while streaming the video. + Do you shoot long range? Did you hit your target or miss? No problem, you can absolutely watch the replay on your device to see where your round landed! Absolutely wonderful! The video attached is from my shoot 2 days ago out to 500 yards. Things that need work: ** --> Software... I'm going to say this loud and clear. Use an OLD Android cell-phone and get the Tactacam app that way, OR - use an Apple ipad/iphone. The app is available on the Apple Store, but it is NOT available on the Google Play store with newer OSs. I ended up using a phone that is 10 years old and was able to get it to work on that. Also - on IoS - the app was designed for an iPhone, so - an ipad doesn't necessarily give you the biggest screen which was disappointing. I absolutely wish they update this so that it works an Android AND a maximizes the ipad screen. +/- The adapter is a little quirky when it mounts to your spotting scope. It might not mount to the dead center of the eyepiece where the optical quality is best ( you might get a little more of the periphery ), but this can be adjusted if you know what to look for. This is also more to do with the spotting scope than the Tactacam. Also - be careful when moving the scope. Support the tactacam if it's mounted to the scope when you're moving it - to ensure it does not fall off. +/- The zoom function is your friend when you're recording. The UGLY: - The only BIG annoyance is the annoying green Tactacam overlay on the bottom left of the recorded video. It's helpful to record in 2160, because in that mode, the tactacam overlay is small and can be cropped out. I've attached two screenshots from one of my back-yard airgun targets ( ~60 yards out ) so that you can see the size of the Tactacam logo. The 2160/4k is fairly small and less intrusive. Overall, if you shoot long range, or if you need to record something at distance - the tactacam is absolutely wonderful to use. I've used it 3 times now and I absolutely love it. Despite the ugly, I strongly recommend the tactacam.

1. instructions are incomplete and the on-line support is non-existent. 2. The app does not work well with iOs (ipad) 3. The clamp to hold the Tactacam does not tighten and cannot be adjusted to be tighter. 4. the rings will not securely work on a Vortex Razor HD 5. The image in the app is too small. 6. The app display is also too small.

I bought this for my spotting scope and it is awesome to be able to set it up on target and then watch my shots on iPad or phone using the app. But I have also used this on my telescope to take awesome pics and share the images with family on tablet using this. 4k pics are awesome when attached to good glass!

Fits my Spotting Scope very well using the included collects. The app could be better. I have different band of scope camera who's app is much better and allows direct recording to my iPad.

Super easy to setup. The cost point is very affordable. Truly I’ve had it mounted to my sporting scope and all of my other scopes. Hunters only no freaks try sneak a peek

The camera would not pair with a Samsung Galaxy phone. The apps are not up to date. Customer service was not any help.

Not supporting the product since 2021 with app updates? Really Tactcam? That is "Tacta lame". I haven't been this disappointed with one of your products since the rifle scope cam, that was ugly too. I understand, maybe you thought this would sell and when it didn't you got stuck with inventory and no desire to invest in application development. It happens, but why continue to sell it? Why continue to take it on the chin with every one you sell? Are there enough people out there with outdated phones to make this financially viable? You have cured me, I have been trained, by you, to understand what it means to be a Tactacam customer. This product is going right back as well. I really have TRIED to appreciate your products, the experience with your products and support suggests that faith was unwarranted. I do really hope one day you wake up and realize how valuable a good, well supported product is, but that day is not today.

It took a while to get it set up but works great once focused

A nice looking piece of kit.. Attached it to my vortex razor spotting scope. Picture quality not the best. Also the screen keeps freezing. Buttons then don't function and you have to remove the battery and replace it again, in order for it to function again. Wanted to return.. but it came from abroad and the return policy states that you may get a full refund 7 days after it returns. Unless damaged on its arrival. "To which you have no control over." Then you will only receive a reduced refund. Far better off saving your money.. and purchasing a smart phone adapter.
