A Must-Have for Stress-Free Drives with a Baby
When my daughter and son-in-law handed me the car seat so I could start driving my infant granddaughter around, I quickly realized I needed one of these baby mirrors. This particular mirror has been excellent – it’s large, clear, and gave me instant peace of mind during car rides. The installation took me all of two minutes. It straps onto the headrest of the back seat (the one directly in front of the rear-facing car seat). The adjustable straps formed an “X” behind the headrest and clipped snugly, holding the mirror firmly in place. I was pleasantly surprised that once installed, the mirror didn’t jiggle or vibrate much at all, even on bumpy roads. The matte black frame looks nice and not distracting; it basically matches the car’s interior. What I love is how big and wide-angle the mirror is. I drive a mid-size SUV and I can see my entire granddaughter (head to toes practically) in the reflection. The convex shape gives a broad view, so I catch if she’s dropped her pacifier or if she’s nodding off to sleep, all with a quick glance in my rear-view mirror. Initially, I worried that checking the baby mirror might divert my attention too much, but it’s positioned such that it aligns with my normal rear-view mirror line of sight. A quick eyes-up and I see her, then back to the road – no awkward craning around. It’s actually reduced my anxiety, because before I had it, I’d be trying to peek over my shoulder at stoplights or asking my wife (if she was in the passenger seat) to check on the baby constantly. Now, even when I’m driving solo with my granddaughter, I feel connected and aware of how she’s doing back there. The mirror surface is clear and actually is shatterproof as advertised – I tested the “shatterproof” claim unintentionally when I unclipped it one day (to see if it would fit in my son’s sedan). I accidentally dropped it onto my driveway from waist height. My heart skipped a beat, but it survived with no cracks, just a tiny scuff on the plastic frame. Good to know it can take a beating and still be safe. The size and sturdiness does mean it’s a tad bulky to store when not in use (for example, if grandparents like me switch it between vehicles or put it away when not needed), but that’s a minor inconvenience considering its daily benefits. From a usability standpoint, this mirror also came in handy beyond just safety – it’s fun! At red lights, I sometimes catch my granddaughter gazing into it and babbling (likely at her own reflection, but I pretend she’s talking to me). I’ll make a silly face in the rear-view and she’ll giggle. Those interactions while driving are priceless and keep her calm. Absolutely no downsides for me on this product, but if I had to nitpick, I’d say ensure your rear headrest is adjustable; it attaches to headrests that can be raised. In one older car we tried, the rear headrests were fixed and had an odd shape, so the mirror didn’t fit as securely there. In any modern car with standard headrests, though, it’s perfect. Overall, this baby car mirror has become an essential part of our car seat setup. It keeps Grandpa (me) relaxed and focused on driving, knowing my precious cargo is safe and sound – and visible – at all times.

Great product
Easy to put up and great to being able to see my baby! We both love it and how easy it is to take on and off the back seat! Only thing is it does not light up at night.

Works great
I love that it is adjustable and easy to install. I can see my baby perfectly from the rearview mirror or when I turn around to look at him. I love that he can see me. I think it makes him feel a lot more safe as well as entertained. The only thing I’d “ complain” about is that after about week or two (or just depending on how much you drive) it starts to tilt down a bit so I’m having to reinstall it differently or tighten it.

Great mirror for the car
Large and easy to clip on to the headrest. Baby enjoys looking at himself during the car rides, makes it easy to peak back and check on him.
