Have used this serum for several months. It has successfully lightened my skin and is not as harsh as other retinal products. I only use this at nighttime. I generally use this serum every few days. I primarily use the anti-wrinkle (peptide) serum most nights and the vitamin c serum every day during my morning skincare routine. The Retinol-C serum really does work if it is used consistency.

Effective and gentle to the skin
Very happy with the Retinol C Product. I was skeptical because most retinoids cause me to peel or irritate my skin. Instead, the inflammation in my face is gone. I experienced no peeling, itching or any irritation. I use this product every other night followed by the Stem Cell Firming Moisturizer.

The best
I like the way this product makes my face feel. I've been using it for a couple of months now and people have noticed the way my face looks. I won't use anything but this.

Not luxe, but has good percentage of retinol
I have tried so many serums. SO many. And, it’s quite difficult to know, really, what they are doing to my skin at a cellular level. And really, it takes a long while, with steady conscientious use to see benefit. So, when I try out a serum, I ask myself:Does it feel amazing going on?—this is a little thin white serum that feels okay going on. It isn’t super creamy and doesn’t have that silken texture like some serums. It does leave my skin soft but not silky soft where I’m going “oh! Nice!” So if I compare this to some serums I have, I miss the silken texture. But I also recognize this is a retinoid serum so it's going to feel differently. Is it luxe or smooth or silky or somehow makes me feel pampered and I want to use it over and over?—I have other serums that do this. This one does not. My expensive ones like Erno Laszlo and Dr. Wexler, and a cheaper one I have from Vichy or even CeraVe feel more luxe but they don't have the retinol like this does. However, it does feel nice smoothing on. This isn't a pampering serum but more of a 'let me get to work on your skin' serum.Does it irritate my sensitive skin or cause my slight rosacea to flare up? I applied it over my freshly washed face and it did feel a little sting-worthy. However, when I wash my face and wait a while it goes on without any tingling or stinging. That goes for any retinol product. Let your face dry; don't apply right after cleansing. Is the cost something I can justify in my tight budget? At $70 for an ounce, it’s rather pricey. If you can tolerate it, prescription-strength Retin-A is the better buy, and stronger and more effective. However, not everyone can tolerate Retin-A products, so these serums that have retinol/retinoids are good to try. This one does tell you how much retinol is in it, which is good; it has .5 %, which is a decent amount. This serum indicates it’s good for acne and for aging skin. The two seem to be at odds. But, then, of course, Retin-A was first formulated for acne and then was discovered to help signs of aging. And the two aren't as ad odds as it may seem. Retinol aids in cell turnover, something needed for aging skin and breakouts. If you have the money in your budget, and if you can’t tolerate Retin-A or other prescription-strength products, then this one is as good as many others to try. It’s not my favorite, but I’ll trust that the ingredients in this serum will work towards helping my aging skin. Perhaps it's not my favorite because I'm unfamiliar with the brand.Again, one thing I appreciate about this Control Corrective is they do tell you what strength of retinol, and that’s important if you are paying $70 for a serum. This one has .5 and that’s a good amount of retinol, according to my ‘research.’I think this will be a good one to try, and then I wait and see.
