MEEDEN Artist Wooden Drafting Stool: Adjustable Height Art Stool for Studio

Very easy to assemble apart from the middle triangular 'shelf' that connects the three stool legs. Aligning each of the three fixing bolts through the legs into the slotted nut receptors in the shelf is tricky to align them correctly. You can easily miss thread the bolt end so my tip is to use a small dot of blue or white tack to keep the nut precisely aligned with the bolt as you secure it. The stool components are well made and once assembled it looks neat and is comfortable. Adjustment is easy and works well. It takes my weight (105KGS).

I bought this to fit in a small space between office height base units, the type you find in a kitchen but lower height to make them suitable for an office setup. I have a space just wide enough for knees to fit in a bit, 33 cm wide. This stool is quoted at 32cm but in reality is just 30 across the seat and about 31 at the widest point across the legs. This makes it absolutely ideal. It seems very solid indeed, and is certainly very stable for such a narrow design. The adjustment is very smooth and with a good height range. At the highest though it would certainly be unstable, but then it's very unlikely to be used that high so it shouldn't be a problem. The addition of a thick foam pad and elasticated cover should make it more comfortable, as sitting on any hard surface for prolonged periods is never recommended, not good for the bones in your own base! The stool itself though, absolutely great.

I’d give this 4.5 if I could. It’s a lovely stool and perfect for getting the exact height, but looses one point ( would prefer it to be half point) for it being a bit precarious to sit on unless you’ve got both feet firmly planted on the ground.

The final stage of assembly is proving almost impossible, as the screws are not finding the thread in the barrel nut. The barrel nuts should be countersunk to help the screw find it but they’re not, which is as i say making the final stage of assembly extremely painful. I may have to return.

This is well made but smaller than I thought. It tips up easily if not positioned carefully. But otherwise useful.
