Ants still get in this. Too small. I kept it because we’d used it, but definitely doesn’t keep the ants away.

Bought for a feral cat to keep the ants away from their food. .It kept some of the ants away, wished the area were you put water was a bit wider so ants don't reach other side of food bowl.I put the bowl inside a plastic small storage container , kept flies away too.

I love this and I really don't get ants. It is small though. It would be appropriate for one cat. Far too small for multiple cats or a dog. Holds one half cup on each side.

I needed something sturdy, inexpensive & easy to clean to feed a stray TNR kitty that was starving to death outside. But I also needed to keep bugs, especially ants out of the bowl. This checks all the boxes. I can use the hose & some dawn to clean it every couple of days & it still looks brand new despite being outside 24/7 & in 100+ degree heat & sun, rain, etc.

This works perfectly well but the container size is small. We are having a bad ant year and I had bought the larger sized one for the strays we feed (7) so for our inside cats I bought the smaller one but I have to fill it 2 or 3 times daily. So I just bought another of the larger ones. This size would be perfect for a single pet I think.

It does what it should & I will be buying another one or two lol. I use it to feed my feral kitties outside & it does keep the ants out. It's a big deal since I live in an apartment. If bugs start coming around they will make me stop feeding them.

It keeps the ants out as long as you keep the moat filled and your cat doesn't work really hard to drink out of it.The cons:It's tough to fill and not get water in the food compartments. I've solved this by using the filling cup that came with my iron.Food gets into the moat and it's disgusting. My cat is a messy eater. I haven't been able to solve this in 15 years, so I doubt I'll be able to fix it. If you have a gross cat, be prepared to have to wipe it out and wash it more frequently than the average bowl.The pros:It keeps ants out. I've tried A LOT of ant-free bowls. This is the only one that works.It does well in the dishwasher.Two wells--my cat really only likes dry food, so I can't take advantage of this so much, but it is really nice that I could put a variety of food into this bowl.Stable. Cats can't knock it over and there isn't a lip for food to get pushed underneath it.I'd probably buy it again and would recommend it if you are battling ants.
