For the purpose I got this, it is perfect, and using a simple rubber band, I have all the cards staying up nice and neat. First of all, no dividers come with this box, so if you want to keep cards separate, you will need to get something like these tabbed 3x5 cards Find-It Tabbed Index Cards, 3 x 5 Inches, White, 48-Pack (FT07215) . I bent back the tabs at the top to about 45 degree so that when I take off the box lid, the tabs are easier to read. I also used a label maker to make easy to read labels. This means nice, neat, easy to read labels on tabs that are slightly bent back, easy to read when you take off the lid. The second thing to mention is that there is nothing in the design of the box to hold up cards. you would either need to have some sort of spring in there to push the cards forwards, or you can do what I did. get a simple rubber band or two, and loop it around the back panel flap before snapping it into place. when you have the cards inside the rubber band, the band will snug them towards the back, and you can easily pull them forwards as you are looking thru the cards. One rubber band is strong enough to keep them from falling over. Two gives more strength, and if you do them around 1/3 and 2/3 card height, then the cards are more likely to not even lean forwards and will look even neater. I don't care so much about that, so I only use one, and having the cards pulled to the back instead of towards the front means easier to read because the front cards are not hidden by the front of the box.

Very sturdy Easy to assemble

This little box is perfect for holding my blank greeting cards. I was a little surprised to see that the box pieces seems to be attached to each other by use of black tape. Because they seemed to be taped, the bottom moves when picked up it. It goes in a little bit. Same thing with the sides, because they are taped together, they are SLIGHTLY wobbly. I suppose that is expected of something put together in this fashion. Although, I am not too concerned about the sides as much as the bottom. When the cards are in and the lid is on, the sides become sturdier. As for the material the pieces are made out of, it is a thick sturdy material. I guess it makes up for the tape with the material. Aside from that, I like it. Surprisingly pleased. It was cheap and does its job well, at least for now. I won’t be returning it. Since this box will be stored on my desk at work, it will be moved very little. It won’t be breaking anytime soon.

I like it. This Snap-N-Store Collapsible Index Card File Box is just what I need. It fits 5" x 8" index cards. It is almost 10" long and 5.75" deep and 8.25" wide. Plenty of room for me to store my surplus seeds. I have vegetables and flower seeds. I put them with an index card and store them into this box until needed for the next growing season. The box has snaps that create the box form. I can see where the snaps might come undone if too much is stored within. However, you can fix that with a screw and nut . The lid is large and fits somewhat loosely on the box, but it does make the card file look very smart. I purchased this card file because it is stylish looking. I liked it so much that I had bought two of them.

Reasonable price. Nice box, and I like the fact that it comes folded and snaps together. The snaps are solid, and this box is relatively light weight, but strong enough to hold index cards. I use it for storage, so won't be opening and closing the box often, so durability with repeated use is not a concern to me. It is made of hard cardboard, with a vinyl covering. The cover fits well, and is tight, so not prone to fall off. I have a few of these boxes, and it is good for long term storage. I am not sure how it would hold up if you were opening and closing it regularly. I have some plastic boxes where the "hinge" is a thinned out part of the plastic, and I don't expect them to last long either, with repeated opening and closing, so this box is on par with those in that respect. Would buy again.

I was expecting a plastic box to assemble. What I received was cardboard cutout, covered with black plastic/vinyl, taped together with black duct tape style tape, and using metal snaps to hold corners in place. I was quite disappointed with the quality. Assembly was fairly easy, except one side would not snap, so I finally had to tape that corner together from the inside. I noticed that the duct tape stuff the manufacture used to hold the box together on the insides of the box was not adhering very well. All of the taped portions had a lot of wrinkles and air bubbles. I spent some time pushing and flattening most of those wrinkles and air bubbles out. After assembly, I was quite disappointed with the size of the box. I found that all my 3 x 5 index cards had a very tight fit along the long sides of the box and were bowing from the pressure. That also makes it difficult to remove or put in a card with just one hand! Also, the box was not as long as I was expecting. All in all, I am not impressed with this product and I see it as only a temporary solution to hold my cards. I am now in the process of shopping for a better quality product for a permanent 3 x 5 inch index box that I can actually use daily. I guess the old saying... You Get What You Pay For... certainly applies to this 3 x 5" card box. Sadly, there are not many decent box styles to choose from, so I might actually make my own!

This box is exactly what I was looking for! I did not expect much from it, due to other peoples comments in time, but it really blew me away. This folds into box shape easily, snaps closed and is a very nice looking box on my desk or shelves. I use this box as a recipe file for family recipe cards, as an avid home chef this works out so well for me. It holds all of my cards and then some :D.

Die Box ist zwar praktisch und originell, leider schließt der Deckel schlecht und passt nicht so genau !! Habe mir mehr davon erwartet!

Although these index boxes were shorter than we thought when we ordered them, they still fulfilled our office needs perfectly (we just ordered 3 more). They are quite sturdy despite being flat-packed, assembly was very easy and they look very neat stacked beside eachother.
