Does it close automatically?

No, it's difficult to close with so much bulky fabric

Does it close completly or do you need to push handle down?

You push together, the top with left hand and bottom with right hand, and it clicks when it collapses into place. Taking the cover neatly down with it. So all you do is use the clip tie to hold it neatly together I hope this answers the question Keep dry and in the shade Heather

Does this product have a UPF certification?

Don't know about a certificate. Description does say it has 99% UV protection.

I've had mine for over a year now and have not had a problem with wind, although I have not been out in a howling gale.
