Besides marble boards being best for rolling dough, they are just more durable than those plastic boards. I found this particular item discounted due to a slight flaw which you can only see if you put on bright light and really look for it.If you find a discounted deal for a marble board - grab it. Easy to maintain - just clean up spills or water right away and it will last. And of course it looks beautiful on the counter.

This cutting board is a great size and doesn't slide around while cutting on it. BUT.... be sure to clean top thoroughly!! ... ( i had to use a single edged razor tool, a hefty cleaning cloth and plenty of elbow grease to removed a black coating all over the cutting surface) ... now it has a lovely granite "gleam!"

Bought this for my mom since she cuts veggies and goes through cutting boards like they were paper. Which is why I decided to buy this one. I will never buy anything else ever again. This is great! It's heavy and will break. Just leave it in one place and don't move it.

I really looked forward to getting this slab--I make chocolates. So imagine my dismay when I opened the box and it started coming out in pieces. Note: it's a single slab. It's not supposed to be in pieces. And it weighs a lot. So, it has to be returned so I can get a refund, and I have to take heavy granite pieces downtown to Whole Foods in order to do that. Seriously, someone literally dropped the ball on this one. I don't know if it was Amazon or the manufacturer's fault, but I'm the one whose out money on this item. I think it's time to take a break from Amazon. If there's a problem, their system is too difficult to use.

Heavy duty granite cutting board, perfect size to keep on counter since it is a bit heavy to keep moving in and out of a cupboard. Love the color!

I love that it covers half of my new stove and keeps half of stove clean. I like fireproof —-some people are selling wooden stove covers and doesn’t sound safe. This one is elegant not cheesy and a great workspace where there wasn’t one before. I would estimate it weighs at least 8 pounds and that’s OK but some people might not feel comfortable lifting it and moving it it certainly stays in place I ordered 2 but one arrived broken….Sent it back and kept one ….When is enough due to the weight of it

I would never use this as a "Cutting Board" and knew that before ordering. If you place any sort of value on your knives you should NEVER use this in that manner. A wood board is necessary for that purpose.I needed a surface to knead and shape dough. Wood cutting boards are not ideal for that purpose. This fills that need. I am finding it not as easy to clean as had hoped. Some areas require extra effort. But overall a good value, and does what I wanted it to do.

Delivery was longer and I almost returned because there was a lot of built-up something on the surface. I tried to remove with soap and water but could not. I thought it was not properly polished out and looked like scratches. My husband noticed he could remove some with his fingernail. So I soaked some Goo Gone several times and let it sit, then rubbed with my finger. Most eventually rubbed off so I cleaned it again. It is nice with a beveled edge. and bumpers at the bottom. The surface is still a little marred, but it will work as a cutting board for meats and to put items from the oven on.
