Is the frame made of stainless steel, or is it galvanized for durability? If not, what is the metal?

A magnet sticks to it so it's some kind of metal. It has a black powder coat on it. Ours has been in the desert fully exposed to the sun, heat, winds, and some rain, for over a year now, and it's holding up very nicely.

How many cups of compost starter should I use in this 43 gal. Tumbler?

Mix a glass of water and a can of beer and let it sit for 24 hours, this will grow yeast and start your bin off perfectly. (I added a little bit of dr pepper also). I started mine with shredded paper bags from the grocery store, kitchen scraps, and coffee grounds. try and turn the bin at least 3 times a week to start and before you know it, you'll have HUGE worms inside. You can also Google "homemade compost starter" and you'll see all sorts of alternatives. Good luck composting! :)
