Berkley Cherrywood HD Spinning Fishing Rods

This is my third purchase of this same exact spinning rod. I bought this one as a gift for my son in laws father. I love this rod for its great feel , durability and the flexibility while trout fishing on streams or on a small lake. The rod I bought is a 5’6” light action spinning rod that breaks down into two pieces for easy portability in a car trunk or you can leave it together for transportation in a truck bed. The Light Action is great for trout and smaller pan fish. The cork grip feels great and have not had one dry rot like the foam grips do.

By far one of the best rods owned, always have two in the hold. Great for over the side fishing or casting in tight coves. Set for light to medium line weights the rod is perfect for panfish but have pulled in some ten pounder cats with this tough worker. Match it with a good reel and this is a terrific setup unless, of course, one prefers a similar rod at three times the price. Highly recommended.

I don't expect it to last forever but for the price it will get you through a season or much longer if you a careful with it. Probably a notch above the ultra cheap Chinese brands (although I'm assuming this rod is made in China as well) and a notch below, say, an ugly stik. It's fine.

This rod snapped upon the first strike. It was hard to put together initially, and that is where it broke when used.No large fish, no tangled grass a clean catch and voila snapped in two. Frustrated with it and on vacation I didn't save the pieces to show the image. Very frustrating to say the least..., ,

its cheap, it was bought as a joke/ truck pole. used this the whole summer of 2024 for bass fishing in smaller lakes in the PNW. i have caught all my PB's with this ultra light rod. i bought the 5' 6" pole thinking i was using it on small rainbow trout but i decided this year to give bass fishing a try and boy this pole held up. i had some great fights with some bass between 1.8ls and up to 4lbs and this pole did not complain. definitely recommend this pole. the price is great. the quality is great. the times fishing i had...just great, all in all.

This is a good little panfish rod. I just used it bluegill fishing and it’s a blast. The rod weighs virtually nothing.
