GESS Shiatsu Massage Cushion with Heat Back Full Body Back Neck Should Massage Seat Chair,for Home

I've been using this since December and I can now write with certainty that it's good quality and delivers a great massage! I use it in between my chiropractic and massage appointments and really relieves pain and discomfort so I can make to my next appointment. My only complaint is I wish the heating elements would have a temperature selection instead on just on and off so I could have more choices.

Pros: Adjustable neck massage height and direction. Upper and Lower back massage. Heat and seat vibration work well also. Good remote and compact power cable with disconnect.Cons: The air tightening feature is strange on LOW and unbearable on HIGH. Doesn't make much sense.Other: One of the lights on the massage balls was busted on arrival but it does not affect the utility of the chair

I wasn't going to bother writing this, but perhaps it will be helpful to someone.I had ordered a shiatsu massage pillow and liked it enough to order a massage chair, which I did prior to buying this one. I bought the Gideon chair which I also wrote a review for. I mean really painful. So, I figured maybe I just cheaped out should have bought a more expensive option, which I did (this chair) a couple days later. I had high hopes :)So I get this chair out, plug it in, and have a seat. It's not too uncomfortable which I mention because the Gideon is downright painful to just sit in if it's not turned on. But I'm a short, fat man, so keep that in mind.Anyway, I pick up the remote to start playing with the chair.First problem: the remote is in Mandarin."Well, maybe the online pictures indicated that, and I just didn't notice."Open up my order and check... The picture of the remote is in English. Ok, so not my fault. But, with a picture of the remote in English, my primary problem is solved, and I can at least use chair. Mildly annoying, but not a big deal to me.Second problem: the remote pictured is not the same as the remote on the chair I received. Different number of buttons... different placement of said buttons... "Crap... So I'll need to contact the merchant to see what's up..." In the meantime, I can try out the chair and just see what button does what.The first thing I turn on is the air cushions. By themselves, these are very underwhelming. Feeling like I'm in some reality show-like comedy, I give a "The Office" look to an imaginary camera while this chair inflates and deflates noisily.So, turn that off... let's try the rest of the chair. I mean, I bought this for the shiatsu part anyway...This turned out quite well initially. They didn't hurt like my previous chair. "This is actually much nicer", I think to myself. "In fact, I think I can put up with the fact that the remote is in a different language and not laid out as indicated in the product info, because this feels so much better than the Gideon."So after however long the timer is set for, the chair turns off. They all do this as far as I'm aware (and can't be disabled). The cushion I started with does it, the Gideon did it, and this does it. It's probably just due to the fact that it uses a heating element. I turn it back on feeling much better.After 2-3min, it's stops. As in immediately without returning to any rest position and won't turn back on. Pressing the power button just results in a light on the remote blinking. I tried it a few minutes later to see if it needed to cool down. This was the breaking point for me when I decided I was just done with this chair.I poke around online for the actual GESS company's website and the best I can come up with is gess365.com which claims to be German, but in no way appears to be. This product isn't listed on that page. The site links to social media accounts that have not been active in a year. It appears to be basically a Chinese company attempting to look European online. The Chinese bit on its own doesn't bother me at all fwiw. Some of the best pieces I own of a particular thing I collect are Chinese made.FWIW:, the seller did respond to my first message about the remote, but they simply sent me the picture of the remote listed on this page which was not the remote I had on my chair. They contacted me again later, but at this point I had already started the return process via Amazon (which has always been quite satisfactory in my few experiences) out of irritation.I tried the chair the next day before putting it back in the box to return it just out of curiosity, and it did in fact turn on again. (And then later turned off again in the way described above.)So that's my experience. Short version:--Spent over $300--Received chair with remote in Mandarin--Remote not as pictured in the item listing when I purchased it--Chair stopped working less than 30min after I turned it on--Seller did reply but with a picture of the remote from the listing which didn't match my remote--Seller replied again, but by then I had already decided to just return the chair. Maybe if I'd stuck with it, I'd have a replacement that worked and I'd be happy. We'll never know.On a related note, after spending more time with the Gideon... it stopped being so painful eventually. (The shiatsu part. The chair itself is of course still very uncomfortable.) I'd never had a massage before, and perhaps I was overly sensitive.FWIW: If this chair had actually worked, I would have preferred it immensely to the Gideon.

Too expensive and poor range settings on locator to achieve proper massage along the back. Should only be used while in sitting position; not in recumbent or you'll hurt your neck! Regret purchasing it

Very good! High quality. It's quite large and takes up some room to store is the only negative. The massage is great.

It works great. It is rather large and bulky as you would expect, so it is best to had a dedicated spot for it. The features are great and it is a good product worth the price. Great alternative to a full chair.

Do not buy this if you expect quick help if there is a problem. Bought this the end of March. It's the first of July and I've hardly used it. A few weeks ago the back massage part just stopped working right after I turned it on. I turned it off and it worked again. It did this several more times then quit completely. Also the part that applies pressure stopped doing both sides at the same time.This is only sold through Amazon by an outside seller. This seller has no phone contact in this country. You get customer service email from China. So far I've had to send a video to the seller to send to the manufacturer. The said it was poor contact with hand controller. I knew it wasn't but followed what they said to do. It's still not working. I can't find warranty information. Don't have the original box anymore. The cushion is fine when it works but I'd suggest finding another brand and a different seller. Wish I'd bought one sold by Amazon because they could have helped me immediately.

The neck massager is uncomfortable then the remote control just burned ohjt I am returning this product 😡
