It works well and was an easy fix to replace an older model 220v line thermostat
I bought this Honeywell Home CT410B Manual 4 Wire Premium Baseboard/Line Volt Thermostat CT410B1017 to replace a Honeywell Model Number T498B -- Electric Heat Thermostat. The old thermostat was in the apartment I've lived in for possibly as long as the building was built, 52 years ago. In any case it wasn't working. I thought that the problem may have been with the actual electric baseboard heating unit itself since an electrician told me a few years prior that the baseboard units can develop more electrical resistance over time. I dreaded having to submit a repair request to my landlord because I have so much stuff in my living room that would have had to be moved in order to access the baseboard unit which is about 9 feet in length. The older model is apparently no longer in production by the manufacturer. There are a few new old stock units for sale here by private sellers, but the price is upwards of $70 to $80.So I took a chance and ordered this newer model. The unit arrived the next day, and not a day too soon in January 2024 just as the Arctic cold was dropping the temperatures well below zero degrees Fahrenheit here in the Midwest. The job to install the new unit was straightforward and the instructions were very clear. A word to the novice: if you at all uncertain of how to remove and replace a line voltage thermostat, by all means, do not chance it: call a professional. However, if you know something about basic home electrical wiring and are absolutely certain that you can safely remove and replace a line voltage thermostat, then carefully read the instructions twice to be certain you understand what the steps are. The first and most important step is to cut the power to the unit at the electrical service breaker. Be absolutely certain you have switched the breaker to the "Off" position. If there is more than one baseboard heating unit in your house or apartment, as a precaution, switch off ALL 240V breakers for the heaters. The wires are very stiff and require a bit of careful bending to get them to fit back into the circuit box on the wall. After I installed the new unit, I switched the breaker to the "On" position and turned the temperature adjustment know slowly clockwise until I heard a little click, indicating the thermostat was sending power to the heating unit. In a matter of a few minutes, heat was literally pouring out of the baseboard unit!If you have an electric baseboard heater, this Honeywell Home thermostat is the way to go. Don't bother with any "digital" or "programmable" line voltage thermostats. They are not as reliable as this basic model. To set the temperature, and be sure you are getting the temperature you want, just put an accurate thermometer on the wall next to the thermostat and adjust the setting as needed. Follow all the instructions carefully, and stay warm!

Reliable and easy to install!
The Honeywell CT410B is a solid manual thermostat. Installation was straightforward with clear instructions, and it works perfectly with my baseboard heater. The temperature control is accurate and simple to adjust. No fancy featuresโjust a dependable, well-made thermostat that does the job. Great value for the price!

Reliable and accurate, contains no mercury
Some thermostats are designed for a low voltage control circuit. But if you have heaters that operate on line voltage (110v or 220v), you must have a thermostat designed for that purpose, like this Honeywell. Anyone who knows electricity will find these simple to install. Comes with 4 wires for 220v use, but can be installed to use only 2 of them, as marked. Inexpensive and easy to use. But if you want a programmable thermostat for saving money on your electric bill, Honeywell makes them also. And always get the right unit for the right voltage.

Works with fan-forced electric heat
My sister and I moved into a new place a few months ago, and each room has a thermostat and fan-forced electric heaters in the wall. All of the thermostats are broken, so that, no matter what temperature you set them to, they turn the heat on full-blast and never turn it off. The only thermostat/heater on the first floor didn't even work at all. No heat! I would like to have programmable thermostats in each room, but it isn't realistic. Too expensive. The Honeywell thermostat is a good compromise for replacing old thermostats that don't work properly anymore. Once I get another one installed, it should lower our electric bill, because right now we can't always manually turn the heat off when the temperature gets high enough, so it gets too hot and we waste energy and money.Anyway, I wasn't sure if this thermostat would fix the problems we were having--I thought it might work as poorly as our old units. But it's great! We used it to replace the totally broken thermostat, and now the heat works again (we hadn't been sure whether it was the thermostat or the heater causing problems). The new thermostat turns off when it gets within a few degrees of the set temperature. But, for moderate DIYers like myself...if you don't have the equipment (possibly a multimeter/circuit tester, electrical tape, twist-on wire connectors, whatever) and the knowledge to install the thermostat, do not mess with this project on your own, especially if you're troubleshooting a heater that isn't working. This thermostat uses relatively high voltage (240V in our case), and you could injure yourself or possibly die if you screw up. It isn't especially difficult to install, but you have to know what you're doing and what to look out for. We had a knowledgeable relative help (but I might do the next one on my own since I've seen it done and this time I won't have to troubleshoot the wiring). The wiring schematic in our instruction manual was printed as a mirror image of the actual wiring, so make sure you check the labels imprinted on the back of the thermostat, and match those to the labels on the schematic.

Brought life back into an old room
I replaced an very old honeywell dial thermostat that came with the house. It was used to control 2 separate Singer electrix baseboard heating units in the same room. Was looking at other digits controls, but decided on this one since it supports wife range of voltage, 120v to 220v. I think my units needed 220v, so wanted to make sure I install the correct one and did nit want to take a chance. Installation took 10 mins for me. Watched bubch of youtube videos before. Connection is very simple. Thermostat came with 4 wires, i just hooked up to the existing wires in my wall. I think this one is meant to support 2 separate units/modules. Works better than the old one. Very easy to use. I turn the dial to a little over 75. Room heats up to about 72 to 73. Good enough for me. Didnt want to soend the extra 30 dollars for some added accuracy that I didn't need. This thermostat brought life back into a room that I started using as working from home office, in this covid 19 era. If you are replacing old control, just need something cheap, yet simple and functional. This is the one. Had it for 2 months or so. No problem so far.

Very good controller
This product works fantastic. If I set the temp at 70 degrees it will hold the temp between 68 and 72 degrees. It works perfect. You do need to look up how to install the temp controller. The instructions are not very good. (To install on 220volt the two power lines attach to the two top wires and the two wires that go to the wall heater attached to the bottom two wires.) When you install the unit you cannot push on the knob at all. I mean don't push on the knob at all. If you push the knob when installing then you well mess up the controller and it well not hold a good temp. I bought one to try it out for a month and works great. I just bought two more.I have had this controller for 5 years now and this controller works great. If you need a controller for your home then this is the one to buy. I am using three controller's in three different rooms and they work perfect. I would buy this controller again.

Worked for my ceiling heat
My old thermostat wore out and my bedroom was either freezing cold or blazing hot! The heat there is in the ceiling, not a baseboard heater, so I wasn't sure about this thermostat. But before I installed it, I compared the specs imprinted on the thermostat (see photo) to my old thermostat and they were exactly the same. The old thermostat was connected with only 2 wires (both black on the same side), so that's how I connected this new one. I just cut short and capped off the 2 unused red wires. It's working and my room temperature is now under my control again! Easy to install if you know how to turn power off for the heater's circuit, and know how to twist on a wire splice cap.Update: this thermostat is quite frustrating, just like the old one before it stopped working. The difference in position between, say, 67 degrees and 72 degrees (my 2 most common settings) is so small, it's nearly impossible to get the desired temperature. I've used a pencil to mark off that range of temps because that's the only way to get close. That must be the nature of the bi-metal switches these thermostats use -- not very precise.

Great thermostat, works well, doesn't get too hot
I had purchased another thermostat from a big box store, and the rep there assured me that it would turn off when it got too cold. Well come to find out it did not, and my heater in the garage was running a lot of the time. This one was great and was easily wired. It does turn off when you turn it all the way to the left. It's annoying they don't have any in Celsius, but whatever. It runs well and actually turns off my garage heater. Would totally purchase again.
