Cretacolor Aqua Monolith Watercolor Pencil Set, 12 Stk, Multicolor

I don't live in the US so I worried so much about having these shipped to me and ending up with them all broken. The promise of these pencils overcame my fear and I took the plunge and ordered them. When I got the tin it was quite a bit heavier than any pencils I have ever ordered in tins. The tin is quite solid and packed inside a cardboard sleeve with product info on it. The trays also are sealed in branded wrapping and there is padding between the trays so all my fears were for nothing. None were cracked or broken. Only one tip looked like a small piece came off - nothing of significance. The pencils themselves are just so beautiful I want to stare at them all the time. They feel drier when applied to paper like a Tombow coloured pencil. The colour applies easily though. There is a soft transparency about them but they are still as vivid as my Mitsubishi Uni artist-grade watercolour pencils (Uni's are for me just as good or better than Albrecht Durer pencils only difference is that Uni's are a Japanese brand). I love how many mixed colours there are. I know many people advocate for pure bright pigments with watercolour products but I find mixed colours also very useful. I will use these for illustration and hand-drawn animation so it is very useful to have mixtures and variations in colours. The pencil line melts away when wet with very little water but just a mild texture of the line stays behind. I think on varying paper you can get it very smooth. I worried most about this. Many said that the colour is mild and the line stays even after water is applied. They aren't as bold as Inktense pencils but they definitely have many subtle as well as vibrant colours to go around. With a good brush on good paper the colour will release very well. I tested them out on cheap sketchbook paper and was pleased with them. Just got them from the mail so we will see how they fare. The whole product and packaging feel high quality. Try them out if you want more detail and control but like the watercolour look.

All pencils are in good shape, nothing broken. Product quality is outstanding. Best watercolor pencils on the market. Lovely earthy colors palette.

I love these pencils! I put them directly into a case and only have broken a few but they can still be used completely. Gorgeous colors, and the first time you or anyone else discovers their magic is enjoyable! So many ways to color with these.

These seem nice but I haven't used them yet, don't yell at me:-). However, I write this for the moment to say that they arrived a bit dishelved in the package. The tin allows the pencils to fall out of their slots due the lid not closing tightly due the silca pacage underneath a few of the sticks. One point broken, not a big deal, but lots of colored dust making them look dirty. Once the wrapper was off I and got rid of the silca pack they fit better, however the tin is flimsy Pretty sure I would not travel with them in the tin (too bulky as well as flimsy for traveling). Will be looking to move them to a rollup type carry case. Will let you know who I lke their performance later. I expect it to be a great experience.

these are great pencils ...if you like woodless pencils these are great you can use the pigments of the pencils in so many ways ....just use as color pencils ...use as pencils then use a little water and create a new look ....use just as watercolors paint from the stick ....mack shavings from the stick and have fun with the shavings on a paper of making some watercolors to add to sprayer and create in another way, and you can remove some of the thin varnishes from the stick and now you have a large pigment to cover large areas ....they have a wonderful colorfast rating so great tool for artist that sell their works ...one of my go to sets of pencils for working in mixed​ media projects

I like the pencils but the color selection is too similar. Not enough variety for 24 pencils. I tried to add photo but application will not work.

These are beautiful! The solid color stays sharp longer than typical wooden pencils and is very smooth to draw with.Also, they have been more durable than I expected. We have dropped individual pencils without any breakage. The color selection is terrific and offers a very nice range.We are particular about color and quality and like to have many choices, so we think these are definitely worth the investment. I think they will last a very long time.

Pencils are all STUCK TOGETHER bot even sure if I can get them apart. The tin DIDN'T HAVE A BOX LIKE IN THE PICTURE. TIN IS DENTED & TAPED. VERY UGLY. IM NOT EVEN SURE I CAN USE THEM. DEBATING ON A RETURN FOR REFUND

Aqua Monolith fiel mir direkt ins Auge durch das nicht vorhandene Holz. Bei regulären Stiften landet leider neben dem Holz auch viel vom Pigment im Müll, wenn man sie anspitzt. Das ist hier nicht der Fall. Den Abfall kann man mit etwas Wasser und einem Pinsel wie reguläre Gouache verwenden und hat insgesamt somit keine Verschwendung der Minen. Also meinem Empfinden nach allein dadurch schon mal ein tolle Preisleistungsverhältnis. 5 Sterne Mit den Stiften insgesamt muss man sehr vorsichtig sein. Durchgebrochen ist mir zwar noch keiner, aber bereits ein Tropfen Wasser schädigt sie. Daher muss man etwas vorsichtig sein, wenn man Parallel den Wassernapf auf dem Tisch stehen hat. Sternabzüge würde ich dafür aber nicht geben, da die Wasserlöslichkeit ansich dem Medium zu Schulden und somit gewünscht ist. Also für Haltbarkeit auch 5 Sterne. Von der Benutzbarkeit bin ich absolut begeistert! Noch nie fand ich es so einfach mit traditionellem Medium vorzeigbare Bilder zu malen. Ob lasierend oder deckend, sowohl in trocken via Stift auf auch nass mit dem Abrieb/den Spähnen. Die Bilder sind bisher Ausnahmslos gelungen und ein wirklich Farbbrächtiger Blickfang! Besonders begeistert mich die Wasservermalbarkeit ähnlich der Aquarellstifte. Allerdings unterscheiden sich die Aquamonilith sehr von Aquarellstiften, es ist eben Gouache. 5 Sterne Ich verwende die Stifte gemeinsam mit Aquarellfarben aus Tuben auf Bambuspapier von Hahnemühle. Dabei sind das vernehmliche Medium die Aquamonilith. Die angehängten Bilder sind auf diese Weise entstanden. Ich kann den Kauf nur empfehlen und werde bei Bedarf natürlich nachkaufen.

Attention ...1 étoile en moins car Amazon ne "cale" pas les articles dans ses cartons. Ces crayons sont très fragiles... ils étaient tous sortis de leur logement... ouf aucun n'étaient cassé mais des miettes de crayons un peu partout dans les 2 plaques de rangement sous sachet Sinon qualité de ces crayons extra (pour les amateurs et puristes, je les trouve un peu secs par rapport à d'autres crayons aquarellables)

Ancora non ho avuto il tempo per utilizzarle su carta da disegno, ho solo fatto qualche piccola prova. Sono rimasto meravigliato dell'effetto creato dall'acqua sul tratteggio fatto con queste matite...un'esplosione di colore: sono matite, e ...acquerelli al 100%!
