This Kobalt electric chainsaw was super easy to assemble and worked perfectly right out of the box. I used it to take down a small tree in my yard, and it handled the job without any trouble at all. It’s lightweight but still has plenty of power, which makes it great for someone who doesn’t want to deal with the hassle of gas tools. I’ve always liked Kobalt, but this tool really made me a believer in electric options—they’re quieter, cleaner, and just as effective for the kind of yard work I need. I’d definitely recommend this to friends and family, and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat if I needed to.

very good and rugged chainsaw for being battery power

This iteration does not come with a battery or charger so that is an extra purchase.Under continuous use, lasts about 20 minutes.Does well with up to approximately 8 inch branches(firewood). Haven't tried on anything bigger.

I ordered my new chainsaw because I’m tired of all the hand sawing I’ve done through the years. I have to admit that chainsaws have always scared me. I read the instructions from cover to cover, and consulted a friend who has done a lot of work with chainsaws. Carefully following safety instructions, I tackled a fair amount of yard work, such as cutting off a tree limb, and taking out dead, large chokecherry bushes (that are more like a small tree). I’m still learning, but this has cut the work load tremendously! Highly recommend.

I purchased this chainsaw to trim some small trees in my yard. Missed the Spring window so waited until fall to do the trimming. The chainsaw broke on first use. Specifically, there is a dial to tighten or loosen the chain. That dial was not working so I could not properly tighten the chain and the chain kept coming off the bar during use.It was my fault that I missed the return window for this seller, but I was not worried because Kobalt has a 5 year warranty. When I tried to call Kobalt, I found that they don't directly deal with warranty claims but instead you have to go back through your seller to get a replacement. This seller is not an authorized seller for this product and that is not clear on the seller page, so I can't get a replacement. I had never heard of a warranty having to be handled this way and learned the hard way. Be careful and make sure your seller is an authorized seller or just go to Lowes for Kobalt and you will be safe.In summary, this chainsaw was trash and broke on first use and be careful with Kobalt to only purchase from an authorized seller so product warranty will be honored. Or just don't delay using it to be able to return before return window closes. :(

Works better than you’d think. Plenty of power and battery life to cut up a 5” diameter pine tree and all the yard storm debris on one battery pack charge. And it’s super quiet. Keep the bar lubed and the chain adjusted and get to work.

Worked well for what it is, a light duty saw. Handled a 8” dia tree trunk well. Can work with the smaller amp batteries, but not recommended for anything more than a few cuts. Battery will get hot quick. Stick with the 4amph. battery that comes with the kit.
