This product is well made, but only partially well-designed.Have used it for about a year now and it's held up fine, and served its purpose, which, for me, was avoiding the waterers where you have to twist the track and bowl parts apart. With this one, you just tip it over onto the base and the little pop cap opens and allows water to fill the base. Easy peasy, and holds a large amount of water, too. I pre-fill the base with water from the faucet, actually, as it's quite big and I want the waterer to last longer between fillings.However, the water tank cannot be cleaned! There isn't a brush or tool that can get debris and algea off the inside of the tank. I just add a tiny amount of bleach to the water when I have to use this waterer. It doesn't harm the chickens but obviously, I'd prefer not to have to do that!A wider opening that allows you to stick a hand in and clean the task from inside would have turned this to a raving review.One other thing- my chickens always end up stepping in the base and turning the water gross (muddy and poopy). So as with anything else you want to keep clean, better to set this on a base like a block or something, to get it off the ground.(Now if you're wondering which waterer I think is better? A 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled and horizontal nipples attached! But I have one cross-beaked chicken in the flock who can't use it so we always have an additional source of water for her, and this fit the bill).

This is a great waterer for chickens. It has a perfect design to where the chickens are unable to roost on top and get their water completely filthy. It is easy to clean and use my son takes care of the chickens on his own and he is 9.

The tank has a small opening that will not admit your hand for cleaning. It would have been a much better design if the grey cap was large enough to admit your hand so you could scrub off the green algae that grows in the water. The filter ring is worthless to me. The problem in my run is dirt and sand in the water, not debris, so the filter screen wouldn't do much for dissolved dirt. Awkward to fill because of the bullet shape - you have to hold it upright to fill. Leaks around the frosted inner cap when filled and carrying by the handle. Awkward to carry upright. The little frosted inner cap is pushed upward by a bump on the base when you flip the waterer over and place on the base. It's connected by a thin strip of plastic. Wondering how long that will last. Would not buy again.

These are great! Nice and big, I can probably skip a day or two of filling water. Easy to use.
