Great for prolonging cut Hydrangea flowers
I believe this product is used for pickling, but I actually use it for keeping my cut Hydrangea flowers from wilting. So far this has been the only method that has worked for me. After cutting the stems I dip each one into the Alum powder before putting them in a vase of water and it enables the stems to pull up water and keep the flowers from wilting. Do usually re-cut and re-dip every 3 days or so and the hydrangeas keep their color and last so much longer.
