Great little serger for the price
Great product. The HD Series from Singer just works. It would be nice if they added air threading as manual threading is a pain, but it does work and works well for basic projects. Very easy to setup and the instructions are clear. Plus there are a ton of videos on YT to help with setup and confirmation of the serger.

Quieter than the Brother it replaced.
Bought to replace a Brother serger that constantly jammed and required retiming of the loopers. This Singer has a smaller footprint, is quieter, and includes a carrying handle. So far it's worked wonderfully. The only issue that we've had is that it doesn't come with a manual. You can buy a 160 something page manual in three languages for about $20, or you can download a PDF version for free and save it to your computer or phone. Additionally, you can print off whole copy or just the pages you need. If you're printing a copy you only need to print about 61 pages as the rest is in Spanish and French.

Singer serger I love it!
I love this serger! I have to admit I found it pretty hard to thread but, thanks to a person on YouTube that uploaded a video I did it!! I wish the manual came with all products nobody wants to go online looking for the manual and print it out that sucks! Very easy to use finish product looks professional. No thread came with this serger some tools did in a little hidden compartment very nice machine I love it

Could be better
Threading: it does not come pre-threaded but the color coding made it easy to thread all the spools. The first guide was a little confusing using the instructions but using common sense it all became clear. The provided tweezer is not the correct shape and type to assist with threading so you need to get the one with the angled tip. The housing: the plastic feels cheap and not sturdy. Time will tell as to how well it holds up. This contributes to the lighter weight. I have a serger from 30 years ago and it works just like on day one but I bought this as an option based on "heavy duty" in order to sew thicker fabrics. The presser foot: it barely lifts up. I don't know if that's how it is meant to be or if my unit is mal-assembled. The only way to know is to check the presser foot lever and that has a low profile so it is also barely "visible" when you feel for it. I haven't sewn a heavy duty project so cannot speak to how well or how thick it handles thick fabrics. Noise: it is comparable to machines this size but it could be dampened a bit if the housing was made differently. It is noticeably louder compared to my older serger, has a sharper metallic turn instead of a smooth oiled turn. Size and weight: looks small for a heavy duty but then I put it side by side with my old serger to compare and it is bigger by about 10% - 15%. It is comparable in weight so again time will tell if the motor will perform as advertised as a metal heavy duty motor ought to be heavier purely by size. Overall, I am satisfied with the unit, just wish I could be excitedly happy.

Singer Serger
Works better than my brother overlock with how even the stitches were. (and I'm a die hard Brother user) very nice buy.

annoyingly difficult in every way
I expected better from Singer, truly I did. This was disappointing in so many ways and I don't expect to buy another Singer product ever. As a beginner, I expected it a little challenge as far as threading but nothing like this. There are parts they want you to thread but you can't see them until you move some other lever - which I found out via a YT video, *not* in the manual as it should have been. Once I did find the secret, it hardly mattered, since there was another part solidly in the way of my thread (even with tweezers). The painted dots they added (supposedly as threading guides) were useless: the red & yellow looked far too similar to be of any help and one of the blue dots flaked right off when I lightly brushed it with a tweezer. Both needles are held in by the same screw, so if you want to try for a 3-thread option or something like a rolled hem, get ready for added frustration trying to remove the left needle while keeping the right on in place. Side note: the right needle is deliberately a slight bit lower than the left. They don't tell you that anywhere so I wasted time trying to get them to line up. I think I got it to work once, for a brief period, then one of the needle threads snapped (even tho tension was set to "normal"). You truly must thread sergers in a specific order so once that broke I had to try & rethread the whole thing. Sadly, I was never again able to get it threaded well enough to actually sew anything. Even for the brief period it "worked", it juddered and shook all over the place and that was on my (very solid) kitchen island, I can't imagine how it would've been on my worktable. Honestly it's also kind of ugly, I'd ordered the grey simply b/c the price was (at the time) a bit less than the sleeker looking black model. FWIW they're both over $300 now. Bottom line, I returned it within a week & replaced it with another model (made by a "sibling" if you catch my drift), which I learned to thread in less than an hour and which has been perfect for my needs. Don't waste your time or money, this is a genuine POS.

Works great but no manual
It took me just over an hour to figure out how to thread the machine. I had to use YouTube because the instructions with the machine are very limited. But it works great and I’m very happy I bought this serger.
