IDC52000 - Letter Opener, Hand Held, Battery Powered, Hanging Strap

Pretty handy for opening a lot of mail on a daily basis. It works well for the most part and speeds up the mail opening process. Very durable.

Not so great. Have to be really careful when putting envelope in at right angle and go slowly across or it will only open 1/2 the envelope. Okay for older people perhaps but def. not for an office.

I have owned one of these for years, and purchased this one as a gift for my brother-in-law. If you have to open envelopes on a regular basis, you need this letter opener. It does a clean job, and it is so fun you'll find yourself slicing sheets of paper just for the joy of it.

Difficult to use

I purchased this letter opener (IDC52000) in May, and less than three months later cutting rollers are dull. Cutting is not as smooth and takes a few passes to cut open an envelope - it does not keep the edge. This opener worked great for about 200-300 cuts, after that I am considering this cutter useless.

I bought this for my work at the "office". It is a little noisy and there is the long strip of envelope to contend with after cutting but I loike it. Eliminates the dust you get from opening letters with a letter opener or zip knife. I would recommend it if you have several letters but not more than 20 to opend daily. If there is more than 20 to open then I would get a desk sized auto opener.

Have had this opener for several years & couldn’t be without it. Batteries last for ages. Gave one to friends who loved it but it got damaged in an accident, tried to get another but unable. Recently found on Amazon & sent one to these friends who are delighted to have it again. Makes a terrific gift.

Received it as a gift from a co-worker in 2004, the opener still works just fine, I use it everyday at work and since it work so well, I bought two other ones, one for home and gave one to my brother, we both use it daily, no problems. I see that some one said that it gets dull, not mine yet.
