SPOT ON SCENT!
Demeter never gets it wrong. This smells exactly like a damp fireplace the day after a fire. Uncanny actually. Loved it and so did my "super picky about scent" boyfriend! Wonderful for FALL.

Fireplace smells AMAZING.
I purchased this is "Fireplace" and words cannot express how much I LOVE this scent. It's smokey but almost kind of, I dunno, spicy? Like smoke with a hint of cloves or something. It is right up my alley, and something I could wear every day. My only gripe is the scent doesn't last as long as I'd like it to. Like other people have said, I reeeeeally wish this came in a roll-on oil!

Meh! Not what I expected. I didn't expect the bbq'd MEAT note to it. I was going to layer it over a smoky vanilla for a Maison Margiella By the Fireplace Type of scent....but it smells more like "Hot Dogs by the Fireplace!" I like Demeter's other fragrances, but not this one. I'll have to give it away. :(

Definitely a buy, don't be fooled by its head chord
Do not let the pungent and unusual head chord fool you, let it linger for just a few more minutes, and the base will blow your mind. Very calming and soothing sandal wood smell, with a touch of roasted chestnut. It's like you've cracked open a chestnut while sitting by the fireplace with your family during the holiday season. I just love this fragrance!

Great at first but the smell quickly changes
This scent was spot on at first but over time has become progressively sweeter and more antiseptic smelling, it's still not unpleasant but it does have a faint dettol undertone now.

Ash not burning!
Love the smell of this..it truly smells like the ash pan in a fireplace. Subtle, low level fragrance , nothing sweet, fruity or musky here! Weird and wonderful. Am always asked what fragrance it is as so unusual.
