I got tired of buying and rebuying cheaper brand shovels which fail after a season. When my last shovel wood handle cracked in half, I bought this one and used it for shoveling 50 yards of beauty bark and also for moving gravel. I will never get a sliver with the fiberglass handle which is so sturdy I will never need to replace! For a better price than the best quality shovel at name brand box stores I got this on Amazon with free shipping. I have put this shovel through a lot of work and abuse and it is the last shovel I will ever buy. I recommend buying this shovel over any competitor brand.

I just tested out my new shovel and it is exactly what I wanted ! You know you are a homeowner when something like a shovel is needed! It fits the all of the above on recommendations! I just turned over my garden with it and with the serrated cut side and the weight of my boot planted on the boot stomp area = made the job much easier than previous years. It slices in and like a machine you flip your dirt and - Voila! - your shovel is bottomed out again in the dirt! Repeat! Buy this shovel and you will be as happy as I am with it after my first (of many future!) Go Rounds with it! Put it to work first before you make any judgement.My antique old one (light duty) now has a new ( Heavy Duty) Friend in the shed!!

I was very happy with the quality of the shovel. The longer handle makes for a serious helper to your back. This product replaced an Ames shovel that literally fell apart where the handle met the steel shovel. This product was referred by a friend that owns this same shovel and I’m glad I took his advice.

Very sturdy

I snapped the handle on another shovel and thought I would give this one a try. So far it's been very durable. I've smashed it straight down into rocks on accident multiple times and nothing has happened at all. Used it to pry heavy roots from the ground and no bending or snapping, very impressed.

I bought the Hooyman pickaxe first. Not knowing the brand, I thought they'd be good backup tools. Once it arrived, I immediately bought the shovel for regular use. If you’re like me and respect old quality tools but your 50 year old spade just broke, you’re going to like these products. Unlike box-store stuff that limp you through a season, these folks make tools solid like your Granddad’s but with the new materials. They’re well-weighed (heavy for an occasional user, perfect for hardcore work). I’m confident to beat on these tools and still get years and years out of them. Super good stuff at a reasonable price. My review is completely unprompted, unpaid. I just appreciate someone making something of quality for a change, and this is my new go-to brand. Can’t wait to see what the designers come up with next. Thanks for making my summer hardscaping and landscaping so much less frustrating, Hooyfolks.

Heavy duty and gets to the point! No need to look anywhere else!

I am really impressed. The serrations coupled with wider foot areas make inserting into ground easier. Well made.
