good project
this is a good project. You need to be more than a beginner woodworker or it will be a stiff lesson, I've learned alot more than I expected. It's been alot of fun and will be even more before I'm finished. A good excuse to buy more tools.

READ THE COMMENTS BEFORE PURCHASING!
Please read the comments before purchasing this product. I did not and recieve a plan for a US State Quarter Collection board thinking it was the actual board. Yes, I was not smart not reading but I was just looking at the advertised picture. Could the picture be misleading????? Just a little bit.READ THE COMMENTS, READ THE COMMENTS, READ THE COMMENTS!!!!

I hate it, a waste of 9 dollars. Why would Amazon allow such a "lier" to exist

Great Plan
This is the plan - instructions on how to make the map, NOT the item itself. I can certainly see how someone would get confused by reading the description - I suggest Woodcraft might want to change that ASAP.This is a wonderful plan (I purchased the plan plus the Forstner bit for the quarter holes). The directions are very good, detailed and easy to follow. I modified the plan a bit (used thicker wood, enlarged the plan, accounted for the six coins for the provinces used a different species of wood for each state as well as changed the framing) but that was mainly due to my comfort of working with several tools and the amount of leftover wood I've had in the shop. The tools you'll definitely need are a scroll saw and a drill press as well as a way to make dado cuts if you wish to put a Plexiglas to protect your project from dust (I opted not to).Overall, I'm very happy with the plan and the project came out awesome, certainly a conversation piece if nothing else.
