The Great American Trivia Quiz Book: An All-American Trivia Book to Test Your General Knowledge!

This Is Another Great Interesting Book By The Author Of This Book.
This is another great interesting book by Bill O’Neill. The author of the book claimed that there were approximately 300 women who fought in the Civil War disguised as men. However, some other sources claim that there were more than 300. Mary Livermore, a nurse with the Union Army, estimated that there were 400 women in the Union Army who disguised themselves as men. The Confederate Army also had women disguised as men. Loreta Janet Velazquez wrote about her experiences in the Confederate Army and explained how she managed to pass a man. Vern Bullough and Bonnie Bullough discussed this topic in at least one of their books. Some of the interesting information that this book mentions in it includes the following: There are miles of underground tunnels in Washington, D.C. They are used by Senators and members of the House of Representatives to get around. The general public probably will never get to see most of these tunnels. Women in the United States were not allowed to have credit cards in their name until 1974 when the Equal Credit Opportunity Act was passed. It was a harsh reality in Colonial America that parents expected children to die. Four in ten children died before age six. Thomas Jefferson invented the swivel chair. One of the members of the committee who wrote the Declaration of Independence, Robert Livingston, refused to sign it.

Great as always
I really enjoy Bill's books. I am a radio DJ and do lots of trivia on my show through the week, I use his books quite a bit. I used this one heavily during the july 4th week. So far I've always been pleased with my purchase, I see no reason to think this is going to change!

quiz but no data?
This book had so much potential. But the format alone killed it for me. He puts a quiz at the beginning of each chapter (actually, INSTEAD of each chapter). So instead of giving you a bunch of cool data, he goes out of his way to let you know how little you know. I mean, it is one thing to have a chapter and then follow it with a quiz to see how well you've done. But a quiz instead of the lesson? If I had known all the data in the first place, I would not have bothered to get the book. So why does each chapter start with a quiz to confirm that I needed to get the book? I already knew that. It just comes across as something really weird, even kinky, that he would go so much out of the way to make you feel stupid. At least the book didn't cost me anything. If it had, it would have been a waste for me. As it is, I don't feel like finishing the book. The book came across, more than anything else, as a lesson in rudeness. I hate sounding so critical, but this book is not recommended, sorry. I would strongly urge the author to reformat this book, as it does have a lot of potential. Jeff

Excellent book for fun and learning
I loved this book. It also has taught me things I thought I knew about the states. I live in a nursing home and use the book when I ask trivia questions.

I don't do book reviews.....
I don't do book reviews........ I read the book and if I liked it I give it up to 5 stars, if I didn't then it gets a 2, if I didn't finish then it's a 1, that's it I'm afraid.I read it, I like it, I want more from the author.I don't write reviews that describe the content of the book as I don't see the point of telling everyone the storyline, plot or subject as I feel it spoils the book if you already know what it's about or what's going to happen. As with a vast number of Kindle books there might be the odd spelling and punctuation errors. After reading hundreds of Kindle books of all types and subjects you get use to them and they become less noticeable, unless there is an effect on the storyline. The more these errors effect the reading of the book the less stars I give it even if the story is a good one. Some of the books I read have been gifted to me by its author for review and my reviews and ratings are not biased in anyway.
