Does what it is supposed to. Accurate and easy to read.

My husband and I ordered this thermometer for our deck basically because of the shape. Most the ones online and in the stores are round. Since we have a lot of outside decor that is round, the shape appealed to us. It is a nice looking thermometer. Bigger enough for the area intended and large enough so I read it from the house. The seller was very prompt in telling me of the short delay and I received it earlier then expected. The only disappointing thing was they referred to a template for hanging which we did not receive, however we made due without difficulty. I would recommended buying it. As I have stated in the headline, very good product for the price.

I purchased this alcohol-based outdoor thermometer and it turned out to be completely defective. There’s some kind of blockage inside the capillary tube – the liquid column won’t rise above a certain point no matter what. Even after placing it in hot water,It’s clearly a manufacturing defect, yet the seller refused to accept a return.Very poor quality control and even worse customer service. This product is useless and a waste of money. Stay away.I bought this alcohol-based outdoor thermometer and it’s completely unreliable. Right now the actual temperature is 76°F, but the thermometer shows only 48°F – a huge difference! That makes it totally useless for its intended purpose.The liquid looks intact and the thermometer is installed correctly, but it simply does not measure temperature accurately.To make things worse, the seller refused my return request. Very disappointing experience overall. Poor quality product with no customer support. Avoid at all costs!

They did the right thing because you don't want the heat from whatever wall | post | structure it's attached to transferring to this thermometer and making it inaccurate. However, it ends up there's one little screw at the top and a thin strip of protruding plastic at the bottom holding this thing in place. So, we had some wind here and it swiveled and came out from under the screw at the top, because everything had loosened up over time, including the one screw at the top. Of course, it broke the tube when it hit the driveway. But it's such a great thermometer in every other way, that I just ordered a new one. It's EXTREMELY accurate and it's EXTREMELY easy to read! You just have to come up with an ingenious plan when you mount it. Once I "aimed" it, it could be easily read from 6 feet away, through glass and a screen on two doors. It's very big and the markings on it are very big!

The item was shipped between two pieces of flat cardboard. It was broken. The replacement came in a plastic bag. It was, naturally, broken. The product itself was exactly what I was looking for and seemed to be good quality. They just need to ship it in a box.

Bought this thermometer for my enclosed patio and didn't realize it was a Jumbo. That being said, I'm glad it is. Works great...and is the perfect accessory for our enclosed outdoor space. No frills, just temps.

The thermometer consistently reads within a degree of a high quality liquid in glass thermometer, and is repeatable. Hard to ask more from a cheap mass produced device (unfortunately but expected it is a product of china). The method of reading is the exact one as for ALL liquid in glass thermometers. Yes of course you must be directly in front of it, you must position yourself to obtain the best most wide liquid column. THEN you must have the mental dexterity to estimate the distance between scribe marks to read to your desired accuracy. I have only written this because some earlier reviews seemed to expect a large display easily to read from both distance and at varying angles, seemingly unfamiliar with thermometers.
