Boku-Undo E-Sumi Watercolor Paint 6 Colors Set from Japan

Very pigmented sumi inks. Creamy texture in the pan. Doesn't need much water or time to reactivate, a little ink goes a long way.

I love my set. The colours are so easy to wet, and are so pigmented that just a little is required. The colours are very rich, deep, earthy tones, perfect for painting shadows. They are lightfast, so I've heard but not at all waterproof, best be warned. I use them extensively just for the shadow-effects in my paintings. (instagram - @ink.parchment)

Rich colour with very little water, beautiful colours which blend and water down for miles. Absolutely wonderful!

The product description claims that this ink is made from the same components as sumi ink. This is not sumi ink. Sumi ink dries waterproof, this product does not. If you are planning on having your work wet mounted this ink will run and bleed which was a rather disappointing discovery.Every other aspect of the product is great. I love the colours, the packaging is compact and easy to carry with the rest of my shodo supplies. Not being able to survive the wet mounting process really limits the amount of use I will actually get out of this ink and definitely lowered the ranking I gave the product.
