Q: Can the cable be unplugged completely off the headset so that if the cabling is damaged it wouldn't render the headset useless?

That is not one of the features of this headset. The cable is permanently attached. It is a very good headset: very soft on the ears, I can talk to someone by me without having to remove the headset; very high sound quality indeed!

Q: Is there any way I can hear my own voice from the headphone at the same time while I am speaking on the microphone?

That is a Windows setting, not a microphone one. Review the sound options in your version of Windows. There should be an option under the headset input to "Listen to this device".

Q: Can it be used together ?

This is stand alone usb end headset for your computer.

Q: Can you switch from left to right ear?

You can flip the headphones around, if that’s what you mean. The sound is stereo.
