Benchmade Edge Retention Is Incredible!!!
I bought this as a new choice for skinning game. This is my fourth Benchmade and I have been extremely impressed with all of them! The fit, quality and edge retention is amazing! I hesitated to spend the money on a quality knife for YEARS and I now regret that! My go-to skinner for the last 5ish years has been the Benchmade Altitude that I bought as a skinner because of its compact size and light weight. I was completely sold on Benchmade when I skinned 5 deer before having to resharpen that blade!!! I still have that and two of the Meat Crafter knives as well (one is a kitchen knife, the other is a field knife) but I do prefer a deeper belly on a skinning knife, so I decided I'd try this one. I haven't had a chance to use it yet as hunting season is still a few months out, but it feels even better in my hand than the Altitude, so I'm very excited to put it to work!

Great compact fixed blade- Orange G10 handle
I purchased the orange trimmed G10 with Kydex sheath. This is an excellent compact fixed blade knife, itโs smaller than I thought it would be but thatโs a good thing. Fit, finish and blade steel are excellent. This would be a great every day carry knife and would excel at skinning, caping and meat processing. The Kydex sheath could fit in a pocket. I attached a Kydex clip, widely available which attached to the sheath side holes , and the sheath slot, making fitment easy., it can be carried inside the wait band, I purchased the brown leather sheath directly from the manufacturer for $35 it fits perfectly and is a great value at that price

Benchmade
Solid knife but quality is what you would and can expect from a benchmade knife. If you are looking for a fixed blade knife look no further you can't go wrong with this one. Solid edge and I knife I can't put down.

Poor design, the original was much better
Poorest made scabbard ever constructed. The original form of this knife came with a much better mold fitting scabbard, which securely held the blade at all times. I owned two of them previously. After losing one, I went to try to recover it and found this was sitting in its place. This one constantly falls out of the scabbard on the ground. That is not only a hazard, but it is extremely frustrating to know that the knife is not secured. I highly recommend not purchasing this knife due to the scabbards lack of effectiveness. I would also request that Benchmade bring back the original scabbard, which could be run through the belt and held parallel with belt as it was a much better design and one that I truly appreciated.

small but mighty
A little smaller than expected but super high quality and razor sharp. This knife will do the work.

Needs a better sheath.
The knife looks good but it came in with dented on the edge. In addition, the sheath is junk. It rattles and doesnโt retain the knife properly. At this price, there shouldnโt be an issue.

Very nice small knife
Through tang that is nice and thick Handle is comfortable and fits my large hands Blade as expected is super sharp out of the box. I dislike the kydex sheath but it does hold the blade well.

Great Knife/Horrible Sheath
Benchmade is usually my go to for EDC and everything in between. I fell in love with this Hidden Canyon Hunter as soon as I seen it, however for $251 plus tax, the sheath for this great little knife is totally unacceptable. Coming from such a high caliber company like Benchmade I dont understand how they could release such nonsense. The sheath is loose, it rattles, the knife doesnt โclickโ into it with a sense of confidence and literally every time you put in or take out the knife it catches and digs into the sheath in some manner. Was really looking forward to this set up but unfortunately I feel like I should have looked at other options. My 11th Benchmade with Zero gripes until now. Disappointing to say the least. Would give 2.5 stars because this is a set. Just the knife is a 5 star review by itself.

Great EDC little knife
Pros: Good quality blade steel s90v, comes sharp, perfect EDC fixed blade knife size. Perfect knife for a leather scout carry sheath Cons: kydex sheath (my opinion), and the hunter orange inlay (my opinion) both cons are just my preference, these may both pros for someone else.
