Exact replacement
Received the part today and took a whole ten minutes to install, very straight forward and easy. I’ve been waiting 4 months so far for Mathis Brothers to fix the chair with no end in sight to get them to fix it. They don’t even know what is wrong, they think it is the power supply. The refuse to send a repair man to diagnose the problem and keep telling me that the part is on back order without even knowing what is wrong. To make it worse no one and I mean no one will call me back with any more information. I will never buy another product from Mathis Brothers.

Plastic block keeps breaking
The motor works great but the plastic block keeps breaking causing me to purchase another every 6 months or so.Would gladly pay more for one with a more sturdy block as I've already spent $400 or so replacing these. Guess that last sentence explains why that will never happen.

Works great!
Perfect replacement part for my Simon Li sofa. The Mathis Brothers rep never helped me find a replacement and even ignored my follow up emails after telling me over the phone they would contact me for updates regarding the part.

Thank GOD I found lift units on Amazon
As of today I'm in a holding period on unit. Bought five pieces of furniture from Mathis Brothers and they will not work with you on fixing a little broken plastic piece. New lift comes from China they said. Wait 2 plus months and then they took unit from their floor stock to fix. Lasted 52 days. Then I ordered these new lifts and now I'm in this holding period waiting for plastic piece to break. Bought extra lifts to have backups when other 5 pieces of furniture plastic breaks. Lift unit is exact unit that came on furniture. So for the amount we paid for furniture ($6,000), we have had 3 lifts beak. I will replace one at a time then when I'm out of my supply I will buy more. All that I can do since what the furniture cost. Lifts units is a bad design.

Worked great! We broke our recliner and we’re able to fix it ourselves with this replacement part. Went together easily.

Broken plastic piece.
My friend has 5 pieces of furniture with this lift motor and three of them have broken the plastic piece in the motor assembly. He bought 4 of these since they seem to last about 6 months. I installed the motors for him since he is not able to because of heath issues. When I installed the last motor and observed the travel of the mechanism I found that at the end of the travel in the down position the motor is a very tight position under extreme stress. The end of travel of the chair linkage is less than that required by the motor in full retracted position. I suspect that this why the plastic part has failed. My remedy was to remove the pins supplied with motor and replace them with 1/4" bolts to allow some slack in the down position. It still raises the legs rest just fine. Time will tell if this is indeed a remedy. If so the problem is not with the motor a poor design of the chair mechanism. Even so I gave it a 3 rating because I doubt that it will continually exert 1000N of force without the plastic part failing.
