Really good!
100% cotton, likes bygone days. Protects your mattress investment EXCEPT from larger type liquid spills or other larger wetness accidents like pee. This is not waterproof, nor is it advertised to be so. If it was waterproof it would sleep hot & not be 100% cotton. This absorbs things like sweat & washes real well and breathes so you don't sleep hot. Very Well made!

Good Quality IF You are Looking for a Thin Pad
Although there are some excellent all-cotton mattress pads out there (Company Store, The Clean Bedroom, PureRest Organics, BBB, Garnet Hill, and more), I was searching for a particular one that is not thick. The Company Store one is wonderful but it is really made to refresh old beds. I had just bought a new bed from Charles P. Rogers on the recommendation of Marshall Coyle who writes the oldbedguy.com blog. (Superb bed information if you are in the market.) Marshall looked around for me because he said a thick pad would obscure the quality of the new mattress, therefore, he recommended this one.I have had it for about two months and washed it a couple of times in hot water and dried in a hot dryer. So far it has held up well. It has a feel-good quality that I like, and it does not get "in the way" of the new mattress. I can put my personal recommendation behind this--if you don't mind it made in China; that bothers me enough that I will probably look at organic ones to see if an equally thin one exists--if you have a new mattress and don't need or want a thick pad.

Great Fit for Thinner Mattress
As there are no longer any standards in the bedding which is frustrating for the consumer. I recently bought an adjustable bed and and the bedding store sold me a mattress cover for the mattress which surprisingly is too wide for the thickness of the mattress. When the mattress cover is shifting and buckling under a fitted sheet especially noticeable in an adjustable bed is is not particularly comfortable with the bunching up of fabric. This mattress pad is not as wide as most of the mattress covers on the market which are geared for thick mattresses with pillow toppers. It fits very well. The added plus of cotton material makes the cover more comfortable than ones made of synthetic blends which make me too hot. I am very pleased with the elastic fitted corners, padding, cotton material and the way it washes well and drys with no shrinkage.

so hard to find ... but this works!
I wanted a thin all cotton easy-to-launder mattress pad (to put on top of a thicker one, which is harder to launder). Thin all cotton pads used to be a common item but they've been replaced by thick, partially synthetic versions (which make my eyes swell) -- so I was very happy to find this one by Downright. (Tried one by Sleep Philosophy, not quite as good...) The Downright pad is good quality, truly non-allergenic, fits a thick mattress, launders well (at least so far, only been washed a few times).

Love this
Bought a hybrid plush 15" mattress and looked for a pure cotton mattress pad, thinner so i could feel the softness of the new mattress. This worked perfectly. It is like the old mattress pads my mom used to use when I was growing up. The cotton is really nice, and I notice no shrinkage after 2 washes. Don't like the look and feel of fitted sheets etc that are too big, and hang loosely off the mattress. Took a chance and bought the 14" depth for the 15" mattress queen size. It fits perfectly- nice and tight and no loose hanging fabric. abut would not want it an inch smaller- no more room to spare! I kept fingers crossed it would work and it's just right.

Ok all-cotton but overpriced.
As other have said, this is a mattress cover, not a pad. The item is well made but has very little cotton filling. This cover should be priced around $25 - $30 max, especially since it's made in china. At $85 it is way overpriced. Unfortunately, there seem to be almost no other 100% all-cotton mattress covers out there that will hold up and not bunch the filling after washing according to reviews, so you have to pay the price I guess. I can't believe that a USA company can't make one of these better at 1/2 the cost. Just a FYI, I ordered the Queen 14" deep cover and I received a 20" deep cover. Tho outside stick-on label says 14", but the manufacturer's panel inside said it fits up to a 20" deep mattresses. The elastic sides are pretty loose on my 12" thick mattress, but if you tuck it way under the mattress it should hold ok - I hope.

Downright 100% Cotton Top Mattress Pad
The Downright 100% cotton top mattress pad is a quality product. As soon as I opened the package and unfolded it, I knew the quality was there and I made the right choice. I was experiencing occasional heat buildup when sleeping on my memory foam mattress. After hearing about 100% cotton pads allowing for cooler sleeping, I decided to give it a try. I have always used a cotton/poly blend pads but this 100% cotton really makes a huge comfortable difference. I have yet to experience waking up at night due to heat buildup since installing it. The price point is rather high but I could no longer put a price on a good night sleep. I would highly recommend this 100% cotton top mattress pad. Pleasant dreams!

All Cotton- but it's thin!
First off it's great to find an all cotton cover. The quality is good but is lacking in thickness and affordable price. I purchased the queen with the 14" for my wool and natural latex mattress. What's good:It's all cottonseems to be well madeThe not so good:The cost is highvery little fill- could be much more for the pricethe fill does not go to the entire edge of the mattressNo indication of where it's madeUPDATE: I washed it on gentle cycle with my front load, then air dried it. So far no major shrinkage or clumping of the cotton. It fit snug on my mattress. Will see if it continue to hold up over time.I think if the price were to come down it would be a better value.
