I have many types of carabiners and have found that the Camp steel oval or similar works best. “D” or other offset styles cause binding in the device. Go with steel as the connection moves around significantly and an aluminum carabiner will wear quickly.

Dynamic rope is rope for rock climbing with a stretch of about 35%. Think of dynamic rope as a rubber band , you can't easily haul loads with it or climb the rope becuase of its high stretch. The Goblin catches you during a fall and minimizes the force of the fall on a static rope.

I think your referring to the red plastic clip on the lanyard. It just makes the goblin travel nicer on rope.

If you are using the globlin to descend a line, how do you brake or slow the descent?
